512 ram upgrade

Hi all, I don't know what rigs you guys are using but I am running a 2.24 ghx p4 with 512 RD ram, I was just wondering if some could tell me if they noticed a huge difference or not when they bumped up to a gig.

I am debating it but man is rd ram expensive.

Any advice would be great

Makes a BIG difference in Photoshop. That's all I can tell you.

WHAT is the big difference though, speed in the processing or working on multiple projects at the same time.

I usually only work on one project at a time, day 1 day 2 etc so if there is no project to project difference I should just put the cash towards a new tablet

Uhm... it seems to me that the "waiting time" for certain processes, especially with larger files is DRASTICALLY reduced... My rig is a P4 3.0 with 1 gigoram and my other is the same as what you have... in both of them my work flow is just smoother. Filters are snappy and little or no screen update time with brushes, etc. BUT if it was between more RAM and a new smokin' tablet... I'd get a tablet. It's like the difference between really nice art paper or a REALLY nice pen. I choose the pen. Papar is paper (to me...)
