hey man, there is a celebration for nearly everything. Just because you don't enjoy an activity, or believe or certain thing, you don't have to go around bustin on it. the term 420 originated at San Rafael High School, in 1971, among a group of about a dozen pot-smoking wiseacres who called themselves the Waldos, who are now pushing 50. The term was shorthand for the time of day the group would meet, at the campus statue of Louis Pasteur, to smoke pot. Intent on developing their own discreet language, they made 420 code for a time to get high, and its use spread among members of an entire generation.

ahh..well whatever event happend this day in some other year a long time ago, I still enjoyed it....eventhough I'm not a huge hitler fan, and I don't smoke up.....

I had always heard it was from this:

meaning... you don't need a special occasion; any arbitrary time is reason enough.

420 comes from police code for being under the influence.. If you ever get a DUI *driving under influence* it will be marked 420....
