here is a sketch (and some playing in photoshop)
it's for some project idea i have for setting up a portfolio with some more "thinked" work
i'll do about 3 or 4 other characters going along with this one, this is only a first sketch but I decided to "render" it for practice ...
in the end i plan to do acrylics paintings of those characters, and i will try to have more dynamic poses, and i also need to add more details, more life and soul to the character, but its hard :)
well i will show you my further steps in this thing, sketches, researches and other thing i will do around this project

basicly what i'm trying to do is to have some "correct" work of character concept for my portfolio, with this one and the others character that will go along with her, I just thinked about some basic setting that would be common in RPG (book and paper) or video games and i'm trying to show that i would be able to create characters along that kind of stories ... but everything is hard, since i'm still struggling with my anatomy, proportions, poses, and even more with having the characters "saying" something ....

Hehe "thinked"? ::sigh:: I'm not a catholic but I think the evil preacher//nun concept is really tired. Not to mention its offensive and crass. Seems to me to be useless to insult other people's beliefs when there is NO religion or theory on earth that has been without flaw...

Putting that aside
Anatomy.
I have taken up the task of drawing at least one sketch of the male and female body every day. Its really helped, as well as reading books on the subject. and life drawing sessions.

Good work, keep it up!

Well, I don't give a shit about religion, so I comment you post... :evilbat:
I find these really cool, the first nun is the most finalised, but I think you should have given more weight to the shotgun...

well, actually they are not evil ....
i dont know, i'm not trying to mock up religion and beliefs, i am myself a christian, and i have faith ...

well since those are only some first sketches around a thing i have in mind it can be mistaken .... actually the little girl has inside her the power of a very powerful avenging angel (quite like the avenging and strict nature of God in the ancien testament) and the spirit of this angel is materialized in the owl ...

the priest who has adopted the little girl had to chain her in order to prevent her to punish every non-beleiver she sees.

and well, i know the whole setting "religious forces against evil forces" is cliché, but thats something i like, and i thought i might try to do some illustration with my ideas on this subject, and that might be some good portfolio material ...

in the end the character i showed are the "good ones" , of course they are qui the inquisitor types, a byt violent and less "holy" than your usual priest, but they fight evil, and i will try to do concepts for an "evil" team, less cliché than the usual zombie, vampire and werewolf.

in any case that was not intended at all to mock up religion ... even if i admit i dont completely like some of the things behind the catholic church, but I have no disrespect, and like i said i am myself a believer ... in the end when all the characters will drawn, and the settings (backgrounds, more action scenes, etc) will be done, i hope there will be no more misunderstanding for blasphemy.

thanxs for the comments :)
but could you tell me more about the anatomical flaws, on the praying nun i can spot a lot, but on other concepts i can see there are problems, but i dont really spot them ... please if you can help more :)

thanxs

Picture 1: her feet are to large. they also need to appear a little further back, more like they are under her and she isn't leaning backwards. Her right arm needs to appear to be on the side of her body, possible behind the gown more. her left arm needs to be a little longer.

Picture 2: His hand is to small for his arm.

Picture 3: This one looks good. proportions are right, though his head is smaller, it seems to be part of the character though.

Picture 5: I don't know if this is part of the morphing process but the owl//girl's legs look a little to big and long for her body.

Picture 6: Her upper arms are to short, or need to be foreshortened more. possibly make her shoulder width larger.

thanxs a lot coma
you pointed out some things i had not see :)

i am myself drawing almost everyday anatomical figures from loomis or hogarth, but its still hard to think about everything when you are drawing from imagination :)
