Landaners might be interested to know that apparently there's a Caravaggio exhibition at the National Gallery from 23 February - 22 May 2005. It centres on his last years, when his work became more personal and introspective. If I can I'm going to try and get to it... sometime!

Dirty C
February 18th, 2005, 05:27 PM
Yeah, that was on the news. Definitely keen for it. For those unaware, Caravaggio spent his last few years on the run after he killed some guy in a duel. All his art became violent and disturbing after that. And he's basically the god of painting, so we should all go see him.

So where did u guys go? What Galleries are open on a Sunday (wait! I should be less lazy and check it out myself) could we do a CA trip? I think that'd be a super idea! (can I pimp that idea anymore) what a fabulous day it'd make, in fact I think it might even help stabilise the growing tensions in the world (that’s a bit better).
Howz Birmingham DC?
Poshspice ( I know your real name!!), any chance you'd drop me a line when you're down?

Hhmm....I think we should have a little meet for this. Well worth seeing from DC's discription, and I remember something bout him on TV...

I'm up fo it - you guys? Anyone gonna pop daan to London for this??? (hint, hint nudge nudge)

Oh, DC - checked online for studio space to rent. Forget it. It's far too expensive. Some are more than the rent on my flat.
Hiring space on a daily basis at the Art Academy seems the best idea for now. I'm trying to enrol on a few courses there, I'm waiting to see if work will pay for half...;)

Hehe - I am now officially an 'illustrator' at the company I work for. All corporate stuff, but the experience is worth it. Dont worry, wont be leaving all this fantasy concept stuff just yet. Now, how to fit an amazonian women into a financial publication...... :confident

Dont get too happy with the sheep! :blah:

On a more serious note does anyone here work for EA or know of their policy on letting 3rd party companies release development tools, in particular Milestone?

Im a big motorbike fan and used to play SBK2001 developed by Milestone/EA. However this was released in 2002 and there is a group of people trying to modfiy the game, however they cant drag anyone away from the car games (F1) so need some help (theyre a bunch of amateurs/enthusiasts). So if anyone knows whether EA would ever let Milestone release the development tools (particularly modeling tools, tracks and vehicles) for SBK2001 id be grateful for that info. The tools are probably obsolete now so I would hope that maybe someone at EA/Milestone has a heart!

The frustrating thing is people have taken tracks from SBK2001 to be used in car games, but no-one will say how it was done or supply any tools!

Cheers for any help ladies!

Try looking online for 'sculpting putty'. Also go to the 3D Forum, and check out Smellybugs tutorial on sculpting. He lists all the tools he uses and maybe the name of the putty too.
Also check out ExeCutes sculpting. Not pro yet, but shes getting there. You'll see the type of putty used, the color and how flexible it is.

Whilst in San Fran, I bought a packet from an art store there. (I'll post the name of it once I get home for you if you still need it) Unfortunately I dont know if you can get it in the UK. Its flesh color, it doesnt dry out at all, and keeps its shape. you stick it in the oven once done.

Don't they use something called 'Sculpy'?

MoP
March 7th, 2005, 10:33 AM
Almost, dirty_c ... it's Super Sculpey (the good stuff, and the stuff I'm assuming Molly is referring to).
I managed to pick up a 16oz block of the flesh-coloured stuff in an art shop in Newcastle for about a tenner. The stuff goes a long way, never dries in the air, you have to bake it when you're done sculpting - it's wonderful to work with.

Having said that, last time I was in the same shop, they didn't have any at all... it's hard to come by, but you can get it in the UK. You could probably even order it online from some US art store and get it shipped over, for a few quid more. Probably worth it rather than dealing with Fimo or that DAS stuff, which is just nasty and painful in comparison.

Sculpting is fun :)
I'm just starting my first full-figure sculpt, actually... just laying down the armature at the moment.
Previously all I've done is heads and faces, and a little samurai helmet as a present for a friend of mine. I think I found it easy to get to grips with because I'm a 3d modeller originally...
However sculpting practise will help your drawing, and vice versa... so if you get frustrated/bored with drawing, sculpt something (maybe something you've drawn!) and I think helps with understanding volume, shape and form. Which in turn will help your drawing. Hurrah!

Which for those interested, would mean wiping out all badgers to have a significant inpact on bovine TB, which isn't such a big deal...

I always like fine milli-put and "green stuff" frogotten its proper name, but u can buy it dirt cheap in bulk. That was from back in the warhammer- necromunda days, probably helped my art more than i think, in fact, i doubt i could paint properly without it!

Good luck cartoonfox! I'm sure you'll get into your first choice no trouble :)

Raziel: Yeah, I've got a bit of experience at ZBrush. Any specific information you were after?
Ben Mathis has a good tutorial worth checking out (if you have broadband!) over on his site - http://www.poopinmymouth.com/tutorial/tutorial.htm - look for the "ZBrush2 and Max7" link, near the top. He covers starting a model from ZSpheres, detailing in ZBrush, then exporting out to Max. This is more of a game art workflow, but the initial section should be helpful to you.

http://www.pixolator.com and http://www.zbrush.com are good resources too, search for the ZBrush Practical Manual on the ZBrush forums, it's got some handy tips in. There are also videos and tutorials on the site and forums.

Have fun! :)

hey badger, yeah i looked at bristol and kingston, but the illustration course at westminister i liked alot. its very traditional, you walk in the studios and it almost feels like a fine art studio, lots of life drawing and stuff, just seemed really great for me.

Trying to avoid coursework as much as possible, Badger :)

2nd year Computer Arts student up at the University of Abertay in Dundee. The course ain't great, but we got life drawing classes for the first 2 years (and currently trying to get them put back on the syllabus for next year). We cover a lot of stuff, but it's fairly unspecific and I fear a lot of what we get taught won't actually prove very useful in the career field.
However, I already know where I'm going (into game/film art) and have a fairly solid plan and a couple more years to build up a kickass portfolio (if possible!), I'm only really in the course for the Honours degree so I can shift across the pond to the US or Canada, where the job market for my field of interest seems a lot more stable and cutting-edge...

Blizzard were looking for a 3D modeller recently..... damn! >:|

IllustriousHarry
March 10th, 2005, 05:55 PM
I looked into that computer arts course for a while, it really interested me.

In searching for information on it I came across someone who did it who now works in IO interactive in sweden (Hitman, Freedom Fighters)

Here's his blog http://binarybonsai.com/

I'm not really sure where i'll go after my art foundation, i'm just set on being part of games creation. Perhaps I should actually try out some 3D moddelling sometime.

Open questions - How hard is it to learn the basics? How does it compare with making 2D images? Do you enjoy it?

ou sound like you have clear aims and a plan so i'm sure you'll reach great places. A unique course like that will always make you stand out. Heh, I like to read the blizzard job listings before bed sometimes to send me to sleep smiling.

Cheers cartoon fox for talking to me about your Art Foundation course by the way, it really drove me to make a good entry portfolio. And good look with your uni choices, i'm sure you'll get in, I keep passing by your sketchbook from time to time.

Ah, yeah, Michael Heilemann - he left here the year I joined, so I didn't get to talk to him. I mailed him a few times with questions about the course, though, helpful guy.

IllustriousHarry: I actually got more into 3D modelling before drawing, but I know that if you are a good traditional artist, you will have no trouble picking up 3d ... it's just a matter of learning the tools really.
Game art is a bit more specific, you've got to know about production pipelines, polygon limits, optimisations and shortcuts that don't apply to other aspects of 3d and digital art.
Personally I love 3d modelling... it's great seeing your creations running round in a game environment, interacting with them and shooting them into small pieces!
If you do come to this course, don't expect it to be focused... anything you want to do specifically will have to be in your own time. We cover everything from Flash + Director animation, to website creation, to photography and 3d modelling. It's a bit annoying really because you tend to learn the tip of the iceberg of each subject but don't get any time to fully explore avenues. Still, it's good for broadening interests and developing artists styles and original ideas, which is what they encourage most.
I hear Bournemouth has a good Animation course, but I think that might be more technically-oriented than art-related.

That Carravaggio exhibition is well worth the admission price ( £7.50 ) - and it's really well presented. Be warned, though - it was extremely busy, and I was there at 11am on a Tuesday morning, it must be shit at peak times. Tickets allow you timed entry to the exhibit any time within a half hour slot though ( no limit on how long you're in there ), so it'd be well worth getting your tickets in advance if you're going as a group...

With the thunderdomes, btw, I'm going to suggest that the UK doens't *as a group* engage in any more for another couple months. If people wanna do what they wanna do, I can't stop them (duh) but every time we see a snowball effect with thunderdomes, they diminish in quality and turnout.

Excerpt from this (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=41060) thread:

I currently was assigned a research paper dealing with Great Britain. It has to be about 8 pages or so, and the thesis has to be argumentative. I really don't know much about Great Britain, and I hate politics. I'm trying to find something I can really write about because I love to write and I am actually excited to do this assignment. I'm just not sure what I should do a topic on.

I was trying to find some arguments dealing with the history of Great Britain's art and artists, particularly during the renaissance, but I don't know. Anyone know of that timeperiod, or anything that went on there? Movements, names, terms, etc. I'd also like to do music, or something I can really put some research into and make the argument exciting. I want something that isn't dull and warn out like politics.

Just looking for some insight from those of you that have any motivation... anything will do. Figured you UK'ers might know something about something.

Dirty C

Ok, here's another thought. I'm guessing your nic is short for Pattern Against User, right? As in the ATDI song. If I were you then, I'd research the links between New York and London punk. The angle could be 'Was punk invented in the UK?'. It did start in the states, but became something utterly different when it got here - and achieved its public image [sic].

Anyway, wahtever, someone else probably knows something about art haha

Hi. I just joined and I wanted to see what’s happening in the UK scene (if there is one :teeth: ). I recently sent off my UCAS form and I have received an interview with my first choice college – the ECA. I have heard good and bad things about it but I applied mainly because I like the city of Edinburgh and the four year course would suit me more than a separate foundation year, especially because I don’t know what field to specialise in. My interview is on the 12th of April and I am starting to doubt my portfolio. I don’t have much time left but if you have any suggestions for what colleges like best then please tell me. BTW I am really looking forward to the Caravaggio exhibition too. I’ll check it out next week. Anyways, hello, good luck to anyone going through the same UCAS crap as me and see you later.

Hey pupil - welcome. I'm not sure about the schools, but that's a bit of a constant topic round here. Maybe Cartoonfox can help you out a bit, cause I think he's just finished his foundation year and has changed schools. So maybe there's some value in doing the year's study to see how you find it and what parts you like the most before you commit to a further three years..? Don't ask me, I have a degree in genetics :)

And about the caraVAGgio exhibition: I have a friend working at the National Gallery and he's said it's craazy popular. Their only late night at present is a Wednesday, and they're all sold out for a while. But he said it's going so well they're going to start opening up late other nights. So we should keep an eye on the site and book a diff day when they do that, I reckon.

Just thought I'd finally check in here after skulking around the site for ages now. Hopefully I'll find a bit more time to post and actually do some art now that I'm settling down in my new job (telephony for the Pension Service...fun, fun, fun).
Do you guys ever meet up anywhere outside of London? If not, then I may have to start saving for some train tickets. Right, I'm off to find some motivation and food, and I'll try to remember to revisit here. Take care, one and all.

Cheers for the reply dirty c. I have been looking at The City Project. It seems a great idea but it looks like all has gone quiet over at the thread (I don't know what’s happening behind the scenes though). If things are still going ahead I'll try and contribute some concepts to it when I am under a bit less pressure from school. I will be at home for the first half of my gap year and I will try and do something decent for it.

Thanks for the heads-up on the Caravaggio exhibition - I’ll keep my ear to the ground.

Hi Badger, good luck with your foundation, I've been checking out your work and I especially like your thunderdrome picture. What college is your foundation at, I might know someone going there? I don't know what your experience of A-level art was like (assuming you did it) but I haven’t been taught anything - the teachers are more like admin staff, just telling you to do something, then going to drink coffee  . At your foundation do you get taught theory or do you learn mainly by experimenting by yourself? I want to do illustration eventually but I'll see how it goes when I get to college. I'll start my own sketchbook thread in a while but until then I'll just be hanging out 8)

Hey pupil, i'm going to do an Art foundation at Manchester Met. Totally agree about the Art A level, nice to know its like that across the country : :blah:

The impression i've got so far is that it depends on the course you apply to. Man met is pretty huge so I'm not expecting to see a teacher much. But i'm hoping the course will actually be directed towards useful techniques. From what i've heard it pushes you to learn how to paint and draw, and experiment in things you might never have. WEEE fashion :cheerleader:

I saw some work from the course which was like the coolest brainstorms i'd ever seen which looked exciting. One was like, covered in ninja's and the guy had modled ninjas fighting in the nifty workspace you get given. I think i'll move into mine

Get up your sketchbook soon, i'm nosy :P

Guys, i found A level really great for teaching, but then my school is ment to have one of the best art departments in the country. Learnt a lot, great libary. In fact i still e-mail my A level teachers. Chatting to one yesterday, up the shops. But i had freedom to paint anytime i wanted in yr 12 (http://www.gilly.org.uk/badgertracks/swirls.jpg) and 13 (http://www.gilly.org.uk/badgertracks/train1.jpg) .
Well i'm at foundation in banbury, which is great teaching, but not a lot of exceptional people...
Dunno bout everyone elses but mine is very hard work, depends from day to day, sometimes you barely see ya teachers, sometimes they are always there.
Splatt If there is it'll be in London. Cas was trying to arrange a figure drawing session and koshime was being cynical, thats about the summary of 3 pages of Uk chat.

Hey Kids -

Whats with the screaming? :) Man, you lot should chill....

When would be a suitable time to have a meet?
Where could the meet be? (Preferences)
What do YOU guys want to do?

I dont want a there to be a meet where we end up not doing anything constructive. If theres going to be a meet, at least think about what it is you really want to do.

If we cant think of anything, then we'll all just hang out together in a cafe; bar; etc etc...

Welcome blog -
answer to your 1st question - it doesnt have to be booze and grown up stuff, we usually end up in a pub, cos London cafes dont really have the capacity to hold a bunch of artists in residence; no, I couldnt be bothered either to read through the whole thread, but an introduction woulda been nice;) ; no UK meets recently, but past ones have been good - click in the signitures for examples of work...

Cartoonfox - a meet around the time poopinmymouth (Brian?) comes over would be cool. Tho, he arrives at 3pm on Saturday 8th April. So, by the time we actually see Brian, it may be round 6 or 7pm. And yes, we'll most likely end up in a pub. So...

@ Koshime - yeah, why not a meet outside of London? Where? What would do? See? etc etc...

btw, theres no harm in double posting; tho you can go in and edit your original post...;)

i've been looking at travelling outside London for field trips over the past few months...and one possibility is a weekend Eurostar trip to the continent, eg. Belgium/Lille/Paris for the on site location/architecture/culture/etc....as a good way to "art for life" and get to know one another more....

The other places in England, require personal transport.

Nice field trips would be wales, suffolk, norfolk, cornwal, land's end, Edinburgh, N scotland, Cumbria

Personaly, I've come back from a 4 day field trip in North wales doing studies from (mountain terrain) Snowdon, Llanwrst, Llagollen, Betwys-Y-Coed, Llanberis and Coastal/castles (Caernafon, Beaumaris, Conwy & Colwyn bay)

@ blog - just the first page? look through some more...
the workshops/meets have helped me somewhat, also talking to people here, getting crits have helped too. I've been drawing since before your age, so that has helped immensly:) Theres plenty artistic inspiration on the net. Your in amongst it right now, all ya gotta do is tap into it. People are always online, and you can get the crits you need here. Meeting up in person does help too. But its not all the time, so dont come to rely souly on it.

(If ya wanna add the link to ur signiture, go to USER CP once you have logged in, and in there it will have an 'Edit Signiture' option. Go in there, and click on the 'Link' symbol (its the world icon with a chain, if ya didnt know) You will be asked type some text in the box, for display purposes, click OK, then paste the url link into the 2nd window that appears, click OK. All done.)

Cas - how is your course goin? I'm going to enrol on the Summer course this Friday...
Drug_Dealer_Dan - if your offer still stands, maybe we could have a organise a meet at yours??? Fellas, let us know!

Koshime - yeah, a trip out of town is what we need. A weekend trip to Paris, or Belgium would be cool too - we discussed this, and I think we should organise it for the summer...(fantastic pics btw)

Yeah Summer trip to Paris would rule.

And Blog, your best bet for kicking off is the Academy. But the meetups do really inspire most people, as you can not only hang out andfeel more a part of everything, but also see the mechanics of how people do stuff and have them explain bits. This, to me, makes it seem less daunting.

Oh, and I've signed up for two courses through St Martin's this semester. Portrait Drawing & Painting, and the Saturday Painting Academy. They're both at Byam Shaw, which from what I can tell, is a semi-independent fine arts school which specialises in painting. CSM seems to sub contract to them for the pure painting ones.

Did want to do the pure oil painting one, but it's only on during the daytime.

The course is going very well. Last term we studied composition. This coming term it'll be working with colour and paint, which I'm really looking forward to.

Just wish I had more time to practice!!!!!

Awight peeps.

Just having a think to myself and was wondering if people thought that a regularly (weekly, forthnightly, something like that) speed painting competition would help people. Y'know, like saying that every Thursday at 8 o'clock, somenoe suggests a topic, then we all have 90 minutes to post our image. I hear this kinda thing goes on on other forums but don't know much about them.

Anyone keen for that kinda thing?

its only hard to implement in the regard, we all finsih work at diff times? and 90 mins after comgin home would be hard pressed. however a speed painting started on friday, and to be submitted by monday...is doable?

Matt Dixon
March 30th, 2005, 06:26 AM
That's a great idea, C. I reckon speed painting is one of the best ways to strengthen technique in lots of areas - composition, colour, lighting, spontaneity, stroke economy, etc. etc. It's a great exercise - like a jog around the block for your arty bits.

Don't know if it needs to be a 'competition', though.

edit : Koshime, I'd suggest that speedpaints are most useful if they're a concentrated squirt of artistic effort, completed in a single session. To me, actual time spent is irrelevant - it's not about how much you can produce in 90 minutes, but the exploration of ideas within a short enough time frame that you're not concerned about a polished finish, which should encourage a focus purely on the important elements necessary to convey those ideas convincingly. I agree it'd be difficult to organise everyone into a short timescale on a specific day, but perhaps that's less important if it isn't a competetive activity.

( edit2: Oh dear, reading that back I sound like a total cock. Sorry. I hope you see the point I'm making behind that dreadful art college bullshit, though. )

Cartoonfox - what IS poops REAL name? It thought it was Brian, or something, he looks like a Brian or Chad, how about Trey? Or Brandon? Tyler would work well.... Anyway - I"m up fo a meet on that day. Anyone else??? I know a few of yers wanna meet, so, nows that time to organise it!

DC, Matt, Koshime - thats a cool idea. Why dont you guys get the ball rolling?

Cas - I'm gonna enrol on a few evening classes, Mondays- painting from life, Weds- Techniques of Masters; Thurs- Life drawing. I wish I could do this fulltime....

Dirty C
March 30th, 2005, 07:40 AM
With the speed painting thing, how hard would it be to organise everyone? Do you do shifts, Koshime? Or will you finish that late at night every day? Cause if we can pin it down to a specific schedule, then people can complete it whenever they have the chance, and we don't have to be posting and SMSing every time we want to do it. I figured the way to go was that rather than organising specific categories in which people would inevitably find their favourite and not learn as much, we just name the subject on the day. That forces people to complete it in the time allowed and thus get the actual benefits of speed painting. (basically read everything Matt said about spontenaiety, lighting, economy and composition).

What kinda time *would* be good for people? We could just trial it tonight or another day this week. Personally I'd be happy with making it something like 10-11.30 on a Wednesday night. That way dinner's sorted and more of us will get some peace to do our thing.. Just open a thread in the sketch forum and have everyone post results there by 11.45. Crits etc can happen the next day if necessary..

I realise this may sound like i've just ignored everyone else's suggestions, so feel free to argue. But that's my proposition for now. Thoughts? Keen participants?

Matt Dixon
March 30th, 2005, 07:55 AM
Wednesday's as good as any other night for me, C. Likewise with the times. Family life comes first, so I can't guarantee participation, or that I'll make a punctual showing, but I'll certainly make the effort.

Gonna give it a blast tonight then?

Dirty C

The range of books aint bad mostly graphic design with the occasional japanese architecture or sneakers special thrown in. A lot of what they've got is expensive art magazines and thick photography journals as well as some crazy little plastic people.

I prefer going to waterstones or urbis personally since they shut down books etc which used to have a brilliant range of art books.

Cheers guys for the advice guys =) Ive bit the bullet and bought the thing since after alot of looking I cant find a similar spec cheaper than 310 squid!

Ill have you know that Im just at home on a Mac as a PC monsure C...Im ;) just not willing to pay tripple to replace anything that breaks or deal with apples customer service -

My friends powerbook needs to be plugged in to the mains because there is a fault with the battery or the laptop itself: he was advised (by apple) to go to the apple store, buy a new battery and test it! Then if that didn't work he was told he had to pay through the nose for apple to fix it because it was 1 month outside of the 1 year warrenty.

Here endeth the rant

... although if I had three grand spare, ide buy a G5 and gig it up with as much ram as i could - then drool quite a bit =)

Dude, it's outside the warranty. No company on earth will give you anything for free once its outside the warranty.

trev
April 5th, 2005, 02:23 PM
I understand that but my point was that it bust just after a year, and because its and apple product its very expensive to fix.

Hi guys, can anyone recomend a good place in the uk to order replacement wacom covers? I have 2a6 intous2 wacoms and I've worn both the covers thin in several places. I'd like to get a replacement cover for one of them and save up for a additional larger pad.

:blahblah: :bashful:

Spacemonkey; Is that you Darren?

Also; when do you lot want to meet up then? Organising a meet-up-n-draw is taking rather much time by the looks a things.

...this is so true...

This Saturday or Sunday would be cool. We gots Ben coming over from the States and we've all agreed a meet when he's here.

So, a show of hands maybe?

Where?
In town obviously - whos up for that? Any suggestions on location?
Cafe? Pub?
All meet at a Station, then go somewhere????

What Shall We do?
(Obviously draw) hang in a cafe?
Share sketches? Get advice?
Ask questions, have a mini-thunderdome?
I dont suggest Museums or Galleries, due to tourism...

I'm happy to draw all day anywhere. I dont have much money, so I gotta keep it to a minimum...fuckity fuck...:(

Count me in =) A mini thunderdome sounds coo but i wouldnt want to do it all dayl - perhaps along similar lines to the speed painting where we have only an hour or two to produce something?

How's Saturday week? (the 16th)

Traditional media tdome - give it two hours, sketchbooks or similar are fine. Small prize for best effort? And by best effort I mean we get to take a look at your sketchbook if we don't know what you're about, and then see how the tdome entry shapes up against it.

Trad media should give people a bit more confidence too, as there's not necessarily any hangup about colour.

How's the date for everyone?

Hello all

I’ve Decided to post more in future, so to start off I’ve finally got my self a sketchbook thread so why not have a look if you fancy giving some life drawing a kicking.

Sounds cool. I'll try and get a few extra people to come along.

How about Southbank? I was there on Sunday and found it to be an excellent place for gesture drawing. Lots of places to sit down and watch people go by. There are lots of places to hide from the weather should it rain, as well.

Hey Res, nice to see you. I'll take a look at your sketchbook from home.

How is everyscum else with that date? We can reorganise if it's difficult for people. And what about the Southbank idea? Must admit I don't know buggery about the place.

Molly
April 7th, 2005, 07:49 AM
Hey All,

DC -the Southbank is pretty cool, its by the river and it leads along past the London Eye, Dali Universe, Tate Modern and Gabriels Wharf- which has some cafes', resturants, bars; its close to the Globe and the Millenium Bridge. As Cas says its great for gesture drawing and the views are cool. London Bridge/Borough Market is close by, and sell fantastic food.

Gabriels Wharf would be a cool place to hang and draw. If we get there late morning, we could nab some seats.

Nearest Stations are
Waterloo, Waterloo East, London Bridge, Southwark(Jubilee Line) and Blackfriars (overland and circle line)

The Thunderdome was an idea we could do during the day, but not all day long. I suggested a TD because whenever we do meet up, we dont draw 'together' so to speak. We usually look at eachothers sketchbooks and thats it. If people have quieries about their work, need help, blah blah, the meet would be the right time to do it. A meet on the 16th would be cool too....

Now, Saturday or Sunday?

Saturday is gonna be a weird day for organising things. Poop(Ben) will be landing round 3pm. He's gotta get to whatever accomodation he is in. So, by the time we meet him, it will most likely be round 5 - 6.00pm.

Sunday we could hang all day. Meet in the morning, find a cafe and chill. Draw people, do some gestures, a bit of architecture etc etc.

EDIT: I'm up for Sunday..

Scum,
This is true, though I'm not so easy for Sunday. Still, might be able to do it. But I will have Dirty C's Traditional Hangover.

And is that the place we went and played with the pois and I hit myself in the nuts?

Thought I'd say a big hullo to the uk peeps on the board. I've resolved to be more active in the Uk scene from now on. BTW, is it a scene? I've never been involved in a scene before. That would be most exciting.

I'm definitely up for meets in the future. Oh yes.

On an entirely unrelated note(honest, heheh), I've started a sketchbook thread and all comments would be gratefully received you beautiful people, you.

Hi everyone.

Spoke to Koshime last night and realised I needed to opint something out. I had originally been talking about *next* weekend, not this weekend. So the 17th, not the 10th. If poop is here this weekend and you guys are all keen to go ahead, then go for it. I'll be in Liverpool though.

If there was no misunderstanding, then cool.

Oh, and welcome Oshiiniku! Do we know you, by the way? We met a Nick in San Fran I believe..

And yeah, we're a scene. Speaking of which, we need to get the City restarted shortly. My attention has been on a project for a friend. It still is, but the City should go ahead - a lot of potential, not much delivery just now.

theres a few exibitions i gota see, so if no one wants to come with me, i might leave for a few hours and then come back ^-^

Ok Fellas...

How about we meet at Westminster Station 10.30 - 11am - its on the Jubilee, Circle& District Lines. Now, there are 4 exits. DO NOT exit the station. When you get to Westminster, you'll see the escalator area. Its pretty cool, trust me, great architectural design. Head up the escalators, and wait at the top, there is a kinda 'hall' you can wait in.

I thought once we all met, we could walk over Westminster Bridge, and walk along The Southbank, past the London Eye, Dali Universe to Gabriels Wharf where we can sit, draw, get coffee etc; then walk up more past the Tate Moder, and Milenium Bridge, maybe walkk across to St PAuls or not, whatever ; then on up the River to Hays Galleria (where theres a cool fantasy-style-steamboat sculpture) pop into the Horniman Pub; then over to Tower Bridge and take some pictures.

This is JUST a suggestion. We dont have to walk anywhere if you guys dont want to, but we gots all day, u can take pictures and draw some sites. whatever.

Heres a map of The Southbank (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v57/Tekura/TheSouthbank-Directions.jpg)

Let me know what you think. The views along the Southbank are worth it.
