View Full Version : Character Archetypes for Promised Sands

I have been making a conscious effort to improve my compositions, dynamics and inking in my work. These latest couple of pieces I think show that I am making some progress but I would like to know what you guys think :)

This first one is a Suv'ik Grunt, similar in some ways to a dwarf. Although I didn't really push the 'action' in this one I did try and get a sense of feeling/emotion into an otherwise quite static scene...

Next is a Rolen Pit-fighter, basically picture a Conanesque warrior. I wanted to create a dynamic scene and leave enough visual clues that the viewer can invent some kind of back-story for him...

There so we can see what you're talking about.

You're good at linework. The line weights in the first pic are dead on.

I'd use reference for the second picture. The anatomy looks off. Especially the (really) small head, torso muscles, and hands.
