Ehh, then I wouldn't be a slacker if I actually had to DO stuff. There's only a handfull of us anyway, it seems.

The funny thing I know there's more than a handful, they just aren't posting to the thread. So either they don't know about it, or don't want anything to do with us. C'mon, I'll even shower...just for you!!!

Helium Macaroni
May 5th, 2004, 04:52 AM
Whew..

Finally, you showered! The stench is actually bearable now! God, you could smell this forum from a mile away :)

Yeah fukifino is right, there’s a bloody bazillion SoCalers on this forum, I know two of them personally who haven't posted here yet. There's quite a few of us Art Center kids here also, and I'm sure they'd love to be part of the SoCal concept art community. In fact, I think it's pretty funny that so few of us have posted considering most of the business is concentrated in this area! Hmm.. maybe they are avoiding us.. oh GOD! It's just like high school all over again! *sob*

Oh, and I'm in Eagle Rock, which is nestled comfortably like a face between bosoms flanked by Glendale and Pasadena.

Mmm.. bosoms.

ok...so what are we S. Cal artist supposed to do with this thread? Is somone trying to set up a meeting or somthing?

fukifino
May 6th, 2004, 02:30 PM
I think that's sort of the point of the local groups. Find other CAers living near you and maybe meet face to face. Being a very new art student myself, I don't really know any other artists in the area other than a few I've met in my class. And taking art classes at a CC, not everyone I've met is all that into the same type of art I am.

So anyways...yeah, I dunno. :/

Helium Macaroni
May 6th, 2004, 05:01 PM
I thought the point of such threads as these was to isolate our best possible respective genetic matches for breeding purposes...

Dammit! I came for the breeding, but I guess meeting face to face would be acceptable. Mayhaps we should open some form of introduction in the vein of sometime meeting up and not having to use our 133t haxor names in person, for me that would certainly feel a bit more genuine! Sooo here are some fun facts..

Hi, I'm Mike and I live in Eagle Rock. I'm 23 and I'm a Taurus. I'm originally from the East (Buffalo represent, as the kids say) and went to college for Illustration in NYC at Pratt, where being trapped in academic gridlock is a way of life, but fun nonetheless. I enjoy long walks off of short piers and karaoke. I live with my girlfriend, who is an aspiring actress, while I attend Art Center in Pasadena.. which all translates to us being dirt poor, yay! I've been known to poke badgers with spoons and drive too fast while listening to Guns N Roses. So if you're feeling the need to "rock out" then be sure to dial extension #323, Ciao!

Now then, with the dispensing of that formality let's all pony up and give out some vital details! It's always good to get to know people around the area, cause who knows if there's a professional somewhere in this lot who we can all sap for information and good connections, as well as latch on to them like the father that I never had....... *single tear*

lets all meet on the 110 overpass on orange grove in south pasadena and drop eggs on cars.

mister macaroni - breeding, huh? hasn't art center taught you anything about working in a sausage factory? just think of all the women you could have gotten with your tuition. i sure wish i took all that money i sunk into school and bought a fast car and had good times... damn 100k at least.

my name is mike and i'm an alcoholic. i draw things when i feel like it and i resent being called an artist... cause artists are pansies and cut off their ears and dont bathe. oh yea and i like long walks on the beach and looking at the sunset and cute asian women who for obvious reasons hate me.

Alright, here's the vitals. My name is Forest (yay, hippie parents!), I'm 29 and currently a programmer and part time art student, hoping to jump ship into a career in illustration in the next 2 years or so. I'm just finishing up my first life drawing class and trying to figure out where to go from here. I'm probably going to try to save up for a class at Watts Atelier, but I honestly don't know (plus this workshop is killing my pocketbook).

Mike (the macaroni one)..yer one funny guy. :D

Any of you other OC peeps going to either the Workshop or the SD Comicon?

PhilHolland
May 7th, 2004, 02:42 PM
Cool beans Forest. Nice to meet you.

I'm going to E3, the Austin Workshop, and am in the process of scheduling the comic con stuff. That may be difficult though......

My name's Phil Holland. I'm am 24. My full time gig is working as a "Scan/Record/Color Coordinator" at Rhythm and Hues Studios. Basically that means I do stuff with film, color correct shots, and program. On the side, when work isn't killing me, I make extra cash doing photography and web work.

When I graduated high school I turned down a couple of full scholarships at UCLA and USC to work on my artistic goals. That was a tuff sell to mom and pops @ 18 while working at a video store. I worked at a small computer company in the valley then landed a temp gig at Rythm that I turned into a career.

So for the past 5 years of being here I've been taking life drawing classes, sculpting classes, and getting crits on my work from people in our art department. Overall, just trying to improve my artistic abilities. Really work on my traditional and digital techniques. I'm a paper sketcher for the most part as I desire that hand to sword feeling. Most of my painting takes place in the digital realm.

I didn't start off with a lot of born in talent, but I had a real interest in illustration, design, character development, and composition.

My passions include conceptual illustration, film making, photography, writing, and music.

My goals all surround generating and fleshing out new concepts and working in feature films and games.

I guess I'd coin myself as a creator.

How's that for a god complex?

I've been involved with the web forums since sijun was in it's wee days. I am mostly am a conceptart.org'er nowadays as this forum seems to be more suited towards my goals. I visit conceptart.org almost everyday.

Run Forest, Run! For the love of God I'm sorry, I couldn't resist. I'm pleased that you find me funny sir, but I assure you that it’s just the morphine wearing off. What I find funny is that I have access to your deepest secrets on your blog.. and with them, I shall assume your identity and wreak chaos on your life! Or simply see what kinda clothes you have.. because apparently you like black.... and so do I. You're pretty darn funny yourself; especially that Avatar which makes me spit soda every time the "scared" face comes up. Anyway, I indeed may be going to the ComicCon with some pals. My Rei Ayunami costume, complete with oddly seductive bandages, is near complete! (I hope that joke wasn't too dorkish) I'm hoping all the hotels aren't booked.

Guh-reetings Phil, you apparently live in Woodland Hills and therefore are automatically associated, in my mind, with the porn industry, contgrats! :D But seriously, that rocks that you work at R&H, I officially envy you. Especially since you're the same age as I am and have a steady job. I'd love to see the rest of your work when you get your site up and running. I saw your thunderdome piece *thumb up.* I wouldn't be worried about the God complex thing, I think we all have a touch of that, especially when making sure cats and dogs have proper weddings. It's sinful if they don't I tell you.

Anyway, if anyone gives a hoot, my AIM handle is MaphistoButercup and I'm on that constantly if you care to "chat." Until then, I need some lunch!

PhilHolland
May 7th, 2004, 05:54 PM
Helium Macaroni - Lol. You nailed it to certain extent. Porn is runs wild in the valley, but remember that Neversoft is based in Woodland Hills. So it can't all be bad. I've turned down ridiculous money to do video editing and photography for some of the X rated companies down here. I just don't really want to get into a business that I can't get out of.
Turning down money is really hard to do btw.

However, during the weekend, if you go to Friday's you might just recognize somebody who's body you might be very familar with.

It's a crazy world.

Hey guys, im Peggy and im a highschool student who is planning to go to art center. But first im going to go to pasedena city college to get some of them liberal art + misc classes away first so i can focus on more art at AC. This summer i am about to go take saturday high classes at AC for highschool students. nice to see that there are more southerners around here.

Helium Macaroni

Forest: Sadly no, that wasn't me.. I had the same costume though, except with about 120 lbs more girth :D Ok maybe not. Actually.. I WAS going to suggest to my girlfriend go as Faye to ComicCon, or Aeon Flux, but then she had to go cut her hair and dye it blond.. Cursed girlfriend not adapting herself to all of my entertainment whims. Anyway, I will no doubt be scouring your many pages of blog in order to unearth the vast tapestry of psychological richness that is Forest.

Valerie: Hully.. f'n.. crap.. I love the stuff on your page, especially your animal characters and whatnot. Bloody fantastic. I always envied animation people, such.. uh.. animation in their work, and fluidity and character. Actually many people at Art Center could learn from that. But I'm totally head over heals for your cat characters.. and I hate cats.. they tend to eat my bird. Anyway, I have a good friend in Westwood, she lives over on Rochester St or something. Isn't it a bit expensive to live there? Maybe it’s just the med students at UCLA that drive their Mercedes' just makes me think that.

Phil: Holy crap! I've been to that Fridays! But I failed to see any bustalicious girls there; I guess I wasn't privy to the crowd. Yes indeed I've passed by Neversoft when I visit my buddy out there. I'm actually quite fond of Woodland hills, it was the first impression of LA that I had because when I visited here for the first time, whilst looking at Art Center, I stayed at the good ol' Best Western that adjourns the beautiful Canoga Park lanes!

Hiya Peggy, yeah try and get as much of that liberal arts junk outta the way as you can before you enroll in art center, it makes it much easier :)

And now.. off to dinner.

Oh yea, I'm rob, 21, living in some cheery part of orange county. Haven't gone to any schools, don't have a job at the moment either.. yes, still live with parents. My line of art interest would be making some comics for now, then who knows what after. Wasn't an art kid, didn't draw at all until a year after high school. Pretty much just poor, quiet, and boring. Good.. goood.

Not sure if I'll be going to the big art convention stuff and whatnot.. I suck at figuring out travel stuff and whatnot (whatnot = limited funding).

:chainsaw: Guess I'll get back to drawing, I'm only on page 3 of this cursed comic.

Helium Macaroni - Well, it's certainly 50/50 up here. Friday's is simply fascinating. Some nights you meet celebrities, some you meet broken down people.
You don't mean the Canoga Lakes do you? :)

LiL QoH - Remember when you were on the tour and passed Scan/Record and they were talking about a film scanner and a laser recorder and looked through a little window on a big blue door? My office is directly left of that behind the next blue door.

Marshall Vandruffs Human Anatomy for Artists

http://www.marshallart.com/anatomy.html

Hey folks. I was trying to figure out what to do with my summer and had finally settled on taking a 2d design course (to learn a bit about color and composition) when I saw flyers for this workshop in my life drawing class. Justin Sweet was a student of Marshall and I believe Vance Kovacs was also. So how could I pass this up!

So, if any of you are looking for something interesting to take over the summer, check it out. I'm going to have to miss the session on legs/feet because of the Austin workshop, but oh well. :D

Hello Jeff and Jenny. Jenny, you're probably practically my neighbor. I just moved to Jamboree and Robinson. :o

I'm down for an OC/anything meet just about anytime. If we meet with SD we should probably meet somewhere in south OC (or I suppose north SD...I'm easy). I don't really know a lot of places down south except for Harbor House in Dana Point...although I've got a friend who lives down there who might be able to point out some good coffee shops or something. I figure if people bring their sketchbooks, coffee shops are probably a little better than restaurants, but like I said..I'm easy.

May 26th, 2004, 04:27 PM
Hey kids,

I'm Pat, and I live in OC (Mission Viejo). I'm the old guy lurking in the corner. I haven't posted any of my own stuff at this time, seeing as how I haven't done any serious art since most of you youngsters were in diapers (well, maybe not that long ago...but it feels like it.) I'm mostly here to encourage others and to get some inspiration to pick up a pencil and sketchbook again.
I'm 34 -- wait, damn it, it's gonna be 35 tomorrow. Sigh. Now I feel even older.

Anyway, I have a 13-year-old son who has used up, I would say, 37 trees-worth of paper on all of his sketches, and he LOVES conceptart. He bugs me every day -- "Dad, can we go to conceptart? Dad? Huh? Can we? Can we?" I should just let him go on his own, but he tends to "accidently" find his way to hankypankycollege.com, so I have to supervise. Besides, we know how much you guys like drawing the boobies.

Some day soon I'll have him scan some of his drawings and post them, because he ROCKS, and maybe I'll dig up my old life drawings to post - or maybe convince the wife to finally pose for me.

Also, I work at the Register as a manager of the web design dept. - so the next time you're driving down the 5 and pass that ugly-ass building, give me a honk.

Anyways, naw, I work at a small software company just about a block down 17th towards Tustin. In the "El Patio" building. (You'd really have to search for it...it's not all that spectacular.) I'm hoping to get out of software and into art in the next couple of years though.

Covina, 91724... about 20 miles away from L.A.
Technically not south but it's in that direction.

If anyone has an event that's open to the public I'd love to attend. I'm hardly what you could consider an artist (more like a dabbling art student) but I appreciate the work of others (and I'm looking to make some modest purchases as well).

only 16 years of age tho, a tad young.

Also, you can take the classes one at a time for $40 a session I think.

Vandruff's class rocked. It was cool meeting fukifino and intern.

I look forward to the next few classes. I definitely suggest artists of all levels should check it out.

Hey guys, we should start a vandruff sketch book thread or what not. The studies we do and how the studies have helped our drawings now.

Tell me if you're all interested.

That sounds like an interesting idea. If nothing else it would help us maybe pick up some things we didn't write down...amongst all three of us we probably got all the info...and it would also be a good tutorial thread for others I suppose.

Of course, my rendering skills suck (although not as much as my writing skills) so I dunno how helpfull my notes would be. ;)

Is it next weekend yet? :(

And Phuzion...whatever happened to that Alice re-imagining you were doing? I seem to have stumbled upon your sketchbook thread right as you decided to STOP posting in it. :P

Okay guys/gals. If you're serious about getting together and wanna make this thing happen I would like for us to get together at the Living Room Coffee Shop on El Cajon College near SDSU. I'll be out of town for the next 2 weeks so let's make if for July 8th at 8:00PM. I go there anyway so if you can make it fine, if not, no big deal. I still like you all anyway. I'm just posting to say hello to other locals here.

Unfortunately, I can't get down to Comic Con. I've missed it for the past five years because I've been too busy. I used to go religiously for the decade before that, and will go again when work isn't too nasty.

I'm in the west valley (Woodland Hills). I work for a computer game company, mostly doing modeling, texturing, some 2D, and only the odd concept now and then. I free-lance illustration, mostly for card games. I'm a graduate of Art Center in Illustration. And I'm pretty sure I know people who have been to Watts. I just took a drawing class at Calif. Art Institute, for fun.

OC isn't any worse than LA. I never believed in the Orange Curtain.

San Diego is cool. I don't think we should divide up. Anything within driving distance is "local", isn't it?

Nope. I'm currently at Liquid Entertainment in Agoura Hills. We're working on a D&D rts for Atari. I started here over a year ago.

For seven years before that I worked for New World Computing (div. of 3DO), on Heroes of Might and Magic and Might and Magic. I left just before 3DO went bankrupt and closed everything down.

New World used to be in the same offices that Liquid currently occupies. I was just too lazy to want to move...!

The name is new--I'm still getting used to it. It was announced without a name on Gamespy or Gamespot or one of those places a few months ago...

And Atari had it at their booth at the ComicCon--demo only.

I couldn't make to down to Comic Con because I've got a couple of freelance deadlines hanging over my head (card game stuff); plus I'm trying to get ready for GenCon. I go every year and sell stuff there.

It's a busy time of year, with all the cons--and doing the computer game stuff...

Yeah, I stumbled across the demo at the Con. Hung out to watch it (as I'm just getting into Eberron). Really nice looking engine/levels on that baby. :)

Mmm...GenCon...I'm assuming you mean the Indi one? I'm gonna have to wait til the Anaheim one. I haven't been to an RPG convention in years...looking forward to that.

Yeah, I stumbled across the demo at the Con. Hung out to watch it (as I'm just getting into Eberron). Really nice looking engine/levels on that baby.

One of Liquid's producers and ass't producers were down there demo-ing it. It's cool that someone actually saw it--out of the 70,000 or so people who were at ComicCon. The guy sitting next to me does a lot of the level work--decorating, texture tiles, special effects, vert painting... He's doing an incredible job. The environment looks eons better than our last game (War of the Ring) and that didn't look too bad.

With most games I've worked on, I'm usually pretty sure the game will LOOK as good as it can, not because we think we're great artists, but most people working in the industry are pretty good, art-wise. It's usually a problem with engines and game-play, I think--or poor direction--but then, I may be a tad biased!!!

Mmm...GenCon...I'm assuming you mean the Indi one? I'm gonna have to wait til the Anaheim one. I haven't been to an RPG convention in years...looking forward to that.

I always go to the Indy GenCon. It's bigger and most paper/tabletop game companies go there.

They just started the one in Anaheim last year. I was actually the Artist Guest at that one--which was no big deal since it was SMALL and people stayed away because it was too close to Christmas (and first years of cons tend to be a bust anyway--it takes a while to build up the membership).

I'll probably go this year--but it's even closer to Christmas--so it'll probably be AWFUL. They picked such horrible dates because they (Atkinson/Gencon) went for a long-term deal (cheaper), and so could negotiate a better date for the year after this one. If Gencon-LA doesn't die before then for lack of vendors and attendees, 2005 should be a better year to attend...

If anyone wants free-lance work from paper games, going to GenCon-Indy is a good idea. Most companies are there--artists are there--players are there. It's good for handing out samples, getting business cards, meeting ADs, networking, etc. But pay for free-lance in paper games pretty much sucks--so be warned! WotC pays OK, but everyone else can't afford to pay a lot. ... It IS fun work, though. I like doing it in my spare time...

------------

Unrelated question-- How many ACCD alums go back for events there? I haven't been back in ages. I was wondering if there were any events or programs that seem worthwhile?

There are those reunion-type things... but I never really saw the point unless I know someone who said they were going and just wanted to hang out with them...

And now, to be a complete debutant...my schedule:

Hi So-Cal people!

I'm a artist-in-training/computer tech guy (to pay the bills...) from the east coat of Canada, and I am thinking of attending Watts Atelier. I was wondering if you could tell me a bit about Encinitas and the So-Cal area, like prices for accomodations in the area, etc... The exchange rate on our Canadian dollar is brutal, so I have to budget big time hehe

My plan is to take a 10 week curriculum and take all the classe I can, something like 12 classes, for 39 hours a week? Does this plan make sense, or would this be an overload you would think?

Well, if you have info that might help me out, that would be greatly appreciated!

Well, if you have info that might help me out, that would be greatly appreciated!

OH, and sorry if this is off topic, just thinking what better way to find out about an area than ask the people who live there

Hey man...I live a bit north of the area where Watts is, but I can tell you SoCal is expensive...it's one of the more expensive places in the country to live in. But I'm not really sure how San Diego area rates compared to Orange/LA counties.

As for the class load...that sounds like a hell of a lot to me.

But if you want my advice do two things.
1) Go to apartments.com and forrent.com. That will give at least a starting idea of what housing is going to run you. You can make some general assumptions from there.
2) Email Jeff or Ron at Watts and talk to them about your course load. They will probably be the best judges of how much is "too much."

Hope that helps man. :)

Thanks Fukifino!

Yeah, I'd heard it was pretty expensive...I'll have to research it more, then make my final decision. The cost of living here, in the poorest part of Canada, is pretty damn cheap, so it would be quite the shock for my modest means...

And for the course load, I'm trying to get all the learning I can compressed within those few months, but I don't wanna go overboard either...

as for watts they consider a full load 6+ classes... if thats all your doing and expences are paid other than working i can see taking a full weeks (7) plus if you dont know what do do with yourself when not at watts and alone in sd you can push to 10 and get one hell of a foundation. its 325 or 335 a class i cant remember and when your over 4 classes you get 10% off and there are even packages they have been trying out. plus you get the friday sketch free with a 4 class enrollment.

i personally have to work and attend university so i only rally have time for 2 and barely make rent and eat.

thats life for you. if you want proof that the watts system works when applying hard work and dedication look at Pandawhipped and DZU. they are awesome!!!!! they have improved so much since they first came to watts around when i started. i used to be par with them now i look up to them. if you have the $$$ and the time take as many as you can... but pace yourself so you dont burnout because it would be a shame.

Oh, anyone who wants in Risk can be in. However.. you have to choose. Regular Risk? or... FUTURE RISK!!

Yes.. I'm that uber-dork who went to the Wizards of the Coast store to buy Risk 2210 or whatever the hell it is, which mixes card games with the classic formula, and adds commanders. Plus it comes with a Moon map and a new globe map with all the nations renamed to cyber-post-modern-dystopian-future names!

Well, I don't have much $$$, but I don't have debts either.... And, I'm thinking I would learn more at Watts than by going to university. I've always been more about the hands on and experience than that piece of paper.

Right now the summer term is on ( July 5 - September 18 ), and I was wondering when the other one starts.

Then, if I can find the cheapest possible appartment, I'd be all set!

My plan is to take a 10 week curriculum and take all the classe I can, something like 12 classes, for 39 hours a week? Does this plan make sense, or would this be an overload you would think?

on the course load: a lot depends on what sort of classes you're taking, how much time they're going to require outside the school, and how quickly you learn. if you're doing mostly life drawing classes that don't require outside work and just have studying from bridgman, villpu, loomis, etc. as optional work, you could probably easily do 6 classes + the uninstructed workshop on friday nights, if you're not working. however, if you're taking more specialized classes (or any of ron's classes, really), you'll have roughly 5-6 hours of work outside class for every hour you spend inside it, if you want to get the most you can out of the class. (and ideally, you should be spending a couple hours outside of class for the life drawing classes, too!)

get in touch with jeff or ron and see what they say, but i think 12 is going to be too much. :) unless of course, you're godly -- you might well be. :) one thing i have seen a lot of is that quite a few folks taking multiple classes start out doing well at the beginning of the term, then fall apart at the end because they're overwhelmed, and end up frustrated and with nothing really taken to a finish.

from my own experience: i can only handle one class a term while working full-time. i spend an average of 5 hours of work outside of class for every hour inside class (some classes more, some less). however, my rendering skills are not great, so i end up having to rework everything i do for class about... hrm, 3-4 times, to get my work to even close to where it needs to be. so i'm spending usually 15-20 hours outside of class each week. your mileage may vary. :)

Rural Roots
August 12th, 2004, 03:08 PM
Good point Culfinglin, bout the outside class work

I emailed Jeff himself, he told me pretty much the same. He suggested no more than 10 classes for sure. I hadn't taken the "homework" part into my equation, so.. yeah, makes total sense.

Next part is to find a place to live, the cheapest possible. The exchange rate on our poor Canadian dollar haha ...Oh, the humanity!

Well, not to rain on the parade, but we all seem to live pretty far away from one another, and taking into consideration (at least here in LA) traffic, this puts us at a disadvantage :[ I totally envy what they got going on up there.. Even NYC is easier to get around than the So-Cal area. It's so f'n frustrating.

I'm all about meeting up with some people as soon as my term ends on thursday.. heh, art center also makes for a HUGE obsticle because of workload.

Injection, I'm alll about meeting up right after the term. I'd love to meet ya, and I'm sure I can collect a load of some AC people together. If you're game, we're gunna be doing karaokoe probably next weekend. :P We try to go every couple of saturdays to a bar in Glendale that has a kick ass DJ.

So around 3? I'll probably show up earlier than that... I loves the beach, and I'll probably head down a bit earlier with a couple of friends. However, I will be waiting with baited breath for the one dearest to my heart.....

.....Steve Kim. *Golden Trumpets Sounding! With doves filling the skies!*

Anyway.. I'm gunna most likely be shlepping Injection, and maybe another guy or two from AC, along with another friend of mine who is really just a recreational artist, but she still wants to hang! Anyone know if there's like a rollerblading/bike path at the beach? I'm apparently from the early 90's and still enjoy rollerblading... whilst wearing a neon pink visor and legwarmers. If there's no one there by the time I show up, I may waste some time blading.Oh, and I'll be bringing the grill for dinner I think. It is a small grill, so we may have to do a kinda slow cookout if anyone wants such food... is everyone interested in cooking out? Cauuusssee if no one is, then I won't bother bringing the thing.

So yeah... I love you Steve!

WHEN WILL YOU LEARN HOW TO LOVE, STEVE?!

...oh.. and I'll be cooking, and rollerblading apparently. I used to laugh at this kid in Highschool for having a fanny pack, then I felt really shitty when I found out thats where he carried his diabetes testing supplies...

There's a moral for ya Steve!

Omg, we can do Beach Risk.....

i totally want in on beach risk.

Helium Macaroni
September 5th, 2004, 04:52 PM
YOU MUST CHOOSE!

Regular Risk... or FUTURE RISK.. Which I admit I have not actually played yet. I think we should make it an art project and make a huge map of the world in the sand. Then move rocks around as armies with long sticks.

I'm sure someone can give you a ride.. where are you going to be staying?

Helium Macaroni
September 5th, 2004, 05:03 PM
Ok, Jmac just gave me an idea. We need an official roster for this thing. Just so we know who is coming and how many burgers and shit I need to cook :)

Soo.. let's sound off shall we? If you're coming to the meetup thingie than just say uh.. "I'm going!" or something to that effect, and whoever else you may be bringing with. When I get a nod from everyone, I'll post a list of who is definately in.

..when did I become an organizer?

So I'll throw my hat in...

I'm going and I'm bringing I.was.ink., Injection223, and 2 other friends most likely.

So pony up and let's get a head count.

Oh, and I suppose that when I get the list I'll put peoples real names next to thier sn's. That is.. if no one feels threatened by being outed! Then we can know who's who before we arrive, eliminating the need for anyone to call me by my laborious screen name... I'm Mike btw.

I really would like to go, but I do have class on the 11th. Depending on what my buddy Arthur wants to do we may head over there. Especially if you guys have a few Watts people from my classes coming..then I will feel more comfortable not showing up in favor of this.
