havent posted anything here for awhile now. here's a pic with the speed paintings that came before it. sort of just came up with the idea earlier this week, and just played with it.

Awesome, they are so creepy, reminds me of BloodRayne. The mask is my favorite part, just because there is so much detail.

Is there a story behind this guy?

Damn! Nice work!
I like the poses, they're very dynamic.
The first one reminds of Brom's work.

Just to join in the ranks of the rest of the guys here:
a step by step would be incredibly cool!

thanks for the replys peeps! i have here a short(and very simple) tutorial i made this morning. nothing too special, but a lot of people asked for it. done in ps7.

1. quick sketch, explains itself, me get some crap on screen.
2. gray scale, black on different layers at different opacitys. i go back and erase on the layers with hard and soft edge brushes. get some local values and some basic shading and high lights.
3. basic color, new layer on multiply, fill it with a, lets say, bright orange, desaturate the hell out of it. get some more light and darks, and define some skin(or other areas of interest.)
http://server6.uploadit.org/files/thecake-quicktutorial123.jpg
4. just paint and clean up some loose ends. a quick color balance gets more color into the piece too. usually finish it off with a mutiply layer with the opacity turned down and erase back down to the layer underneath. i cropped the pic and added more stuff to it.

dont mind his crotch.

I noticed your speedpaints a while back and your style and motion striked me hard. I had one of your images on my desktop for weeks. Continue to kick butt, dude! Every single one of them is awesome :chug:

Edit:
They all seem to have the same hand pose, though. Mabye your next figure could hold something? Like a staff or a gun etc..

Your style is the best. I'd love to see you take on some different subjects... as much as I love dudes in gas masks:p
Thanks for the tutorial, I've never heard of that aproach before.

Great series of images.

The pieces got my attention, and its nice to see someone who can draw multiple versions of similar/same subject and keep it consistant.
