Here is a fantasy piece I did this morning, again from a pencil sketch and painted in Painter.

great armor stuff, cool character.
i am not sure if a my opinions are wanted, but sense you posted its your own fault, i think its really bright. i think this characters skin would look good with some neutrals to desaturate it a bit, like some 50 to darker grays. its just what i was impulsing towards when looking at it.

hey, that blending idea ain't bad....maybe at another future revision...

Ya, profiles usually are not as interesting, but in this case the flowing branches (I thought it gives it a sense of motion) comming off his back wouldn't read as well say from front view or 3/4. If rules can't be broken in artwork, where can they? :D

Nice work!
The face profile is very smooth....love the nose...! This part of the face in profile is just so amazing on people....
The tat on the forearm is slick, but the arm anatomy seems a bit undefined with highlights hitting at odd places. Where is your direct light source coming from? Seems to be coming in from behind the figure based on the armor.
BTW - love the verdent leaves - those are great!
The background is very smooth, but if you happen to have this on a separate layer in photoshop, how about a Hue/Saturation Adjustment layer linked just to the background details and then drop the Hue into a slightly blue range. This may shock the foreground and have the figure 'pop' more.
Just an idea.
Keep up the great work!
