For a minute I thought you just painted the figure on top of a photo..then I looked closer at the background...daaaamn.
But yeah, no technical crits..just a conceptual one...why is a vampire out in the daylight? :O

being a vampire myself, i can tell you that on cloudy days such as in this pic....it's ok to walk out in the day-light...
great idea tegehel....it's very funny....
how much photo-reference do you use? if you don't mind me asking....

hey, this is pretty kick-ass and an interesting concept, too! Good composition, anatomy and colors.
There's two areas where her form is blending into the background, the bottom of her left wrist and her right leg and arm. They don't need much to pop them out, just a touch value difference.
How much of this is photo ref? It looks like it could be down city Providence but there aren't enough potholes and it's too sunny to be recent :)

really smashing. great work!
Only one crit... she seems be be a pretty slim character, but her boob ( the one to the left) looks a bit like a big baloon. It' looks a bit out of place. tone it down , and you got a killer!

Wow, that is amazing I really enjoy the mood of the picture. I have never painted anything before, only sketches...what did you use to color the picture, did you use a computer program or real paint?(I feel dumb asking this, lol)

Sorry for the late response, folks, but since it's finally been beautiful outside for the past few days, I thought I wouldn't spend all my days in front of the PC. Spring's finally coming.
DeDSol: Damn!
Marko: thanks, mate. Coming from you, means mucho to me. Cheers and beers! Keep making us drool, you crazy artist you...
young paddy1: Well, I think the sunglasses is really the key to happy shiny and melty people. She's got anti-flare, you see...
fukifino: thanks man. I do not, as a general rule, paint over photos. I do use them as reference however. For instance, that car (taxi) in the forefront doesn't exist: It's a mix of a ford and a chevy. And I thought a vampire in the dailight wearing sunglasses as the sole means of protection would be cool. Funny you should focus on that, but the big giant bloodstain doesn't seem to bother you as much :)
RCabrales: Thanks Raul. For this one, most of it is referenced. Some pictures I took, some I found on the Net (in this case: cars, buildings, clouds). I made sort of a reference-collage as I added more details. The clouds, for instance, are not "copied" but "based on" photos of clouds I have. Hope it makes sense.
bwkeough: aha! you're right, it ain't Providence. It's actually a mix of other city. I believe some buildings are from NY, some from the West Coast. Taxis are from NY, so let's say the scene's there too.
gallon: that's funny, you're the 2nd person who told me that. Actually, the original model is like that (not the same head though), and I already tried to "fix it" but it didn't look great. I think I'm going to try again later (make it ready for ComicCon, let's say.)
fitzroy: wow! it's the first time I've been paralleled to Alex Ross. THAT took MY breath away :) I can't even come close to his incredible skills, but I'm learning, I'm learning...
sjoerd, Groover McNab, Loga4, Barti89: thank you very much. I appreciate a lot.
Until next time,
:nana
