I really want to run with this further, but after 1h45 I need to go play in the sun for a while.
The ultimate tide of darkness: Multiple zombified clones of yours truely!
http://pookabin.com/images/GumbiesWIP.jpg
And incase the stance of the zombie on the right looks familiar, I used the back cover of Pantera's Vulgar Display of Power as a reference. :)
onvison - Welcome. You're off to a flying start. Nice piece.
PoX - I really dig this. Is the guy summoning the tide or making a stance for the good guys?
jasonka - Why do I get the feeling you're injecting subliminal images into my mind?! You sure it's not one of them magic eye pic's? :D

Okay, I'm getting lazy. I keep posting things that were done for other projects. For the new kids, this is really a no-no. You are supposed to do the work the day of the DSG. I'm cheating just to stay in the game right now 'cause I'm swamped.
Gad. I feel like a politician.
Anyway, here's one that got rejected from a current project that I'm on. (The "chick" wasn't "hot enough..." :hmm: )

Probably about 5 hours on it thus far, including the initial pencil sketch. Painter 8.

ok louzy today with more of a character rather than a scene, but since my guy is somehow painted in some environment, could cal this a scene. want more? you can imagine (another kind of) nazgul (no horse) starded it late hope i'll get it done and (if) if that happens i shall post it 2 finished section.

Well the sun certainly didn't last long so I came back and finished it off. Roughly 3 hours.
http://pookabin.com/images/DSG/DSG412_RisingTide.JPG
JBX - It's a little hard to make out, but I like the composition and simple lines.
Oregano - Great. I saw this in your sketchbook but it looks fantastic coloured. The face on the woman is so cool.
JoB - The sea is very well done. Reminds me of the trailer for that day after tomorrow movie.
Cold - Looks cool... very original idea. Are they mean't to be lots of raised hands in the foreground? Not sure but I see 'em as that, and coupled with the dancefloor style lighting I read the piece as a rave. :D
dimness - Nice strong looking. I like the composition and the red accending from the head.

RAVE ON my brother! :D TBH I don't know if there are many hands coming out of the ground, if they are, it would be a pretty good freak show:)
Gumdrop, I can see you have added more detail to it and some more colour, is the red-orange you have added a act through inspiration? if yes. what of.
oh yea dimness, i'll be waiting and throwing critique on your finished pic, becouse im bored.

There are alot of different intersting ones today. I really liked the ones that used the object tide in their piece. (Job, Pox, and Draigarthur). Just to name a few others:
artistanbul: I love that style, you might want to try some red for the eyes, just to try, may or may not work.
Gumdrop: I like the poses, and I dig the background.
Cold: The lighting is really nice. It gives a nice glowing effect.
Ok here is mine.

yes matty, you impressed me on that one, i like the camera angle plus the texture on the grass, with little more time, detail and colour overflow, you would of had a peace to frame for the wall. :)
edit - forgot to tell you, some of the light reflecting off the sungoing down on the grass, maybe a little more green light on the souls flying about and then have there greeny light reflect onto the grass.
LOL I know I know its only ment to be a sketch, but I like it alot:)

Thanks Cold, I will probably work some more on it later, probably throw it in painter and finish it up in that perhaps. I probably wasted a ton of pages in my sketch book withwierd doodles. Then im like screw, I just had someone of an idea in my head, then I just did it all in photoshop. I have the worst problem of takign whats in my head and getting it down, even as a simple sketch. This problem never seems to go away, its hard.

Gumdrop: The guy is summoning the tide up behind him. BTW, Cool zombies you have a handle on figures, but I liked them green rather than yellow, looked more freaky.
Cold: Nice and dramatic scene. Maybe make the giant hand lit from underneath where all that light is comming from.
Buzzz: Nice siloette and weapon. The flying creatures add a lot to the atmosphere. I'd have thousands of them swarming up behind him to fit the "rising tide of darkness" theme.
Kurdt: lol, post-it-note...

This was my first thought. However it was getting late so I didn't have a chance to finish it. I think I will take the time to finish this one off however as I am having allot of fun with this one.

Man, I need a tablet bad, drawing with a mouse really makes the evil carpel tunnel monster come out.
Everybody has really made some amazing stuff this time around. Im nothing but inspired by all of the great work.
