i dunno why but the transition from light to shadow really blows in the photo.. it doesn't suck so bad irl, really, i'm absolutely kind of sure.

awesome work chumps I really like your stuff a lot. You really should try to get your stuff posted in a museum or reviewed by some art critic. I really think people would latch on to your style. Your stuff is great.

impressive. beautiful and frightening at the same time. the detail is amazing, it could be a piece all by itself. nonsense with that light transition stuff, it looks tight from here; very stylish.

i think its beautiful aswell..
the nose is a little wiggy,, it could use a bit more attention.
but maby thats the light/mid tones transition thingie you were talking about goobering it up.
it looks like she stole the nose off of Rowan Atkinson.
yoink! :p

A bit rainbow-y...maybe try not going so far out with your colors...just push a select few....its nice that your painting...and you have the right idea with contrast and making your eye move throughout the piece...just use less colors....:chug:

I like the close up image more, it's like a detail from an old master. The complexity in the larger picture seems to be a little superfluous to me, although it does help with the composition somewhat.

I really like this painting. I'd disagree about the "rainbow-y" comment, I think the colors are what's making it so appealing. the only thing I would change, if this was mine, would be to shift the focus out of the direct center. that's just me though, and I think it works really well the way it is now too. nice one.

yolegas: i don't know about freud hehe.. thought my last painting (a self portrait) ended up rather high-key.. like a freud painting.. and no this isn't digital it is in oil.
mind: you are too free with your compliments, hard to take you seriously!
lono: the big nose never even occured to me. but i do see what you mean. still, unless i look for it it doesn't seem THAT big. :)
stark: i think i tend to get 'rainbow-y' for almost any painting i work on. color and painting is a totally new thing for me so i tend to go overboard. that said, i don't mind this girl's yellow-green skin, it's somehow charming :).
china: not surprising, since i looked at a lot of da vinci's sketches/paintings of women (and their downcast stares teehee) like la scapiliata, virgin on the rocks, and the sketches for leda.
cotron: i will have to remember the direct center thing, i never seem to remember any rules of composition!

I love your stuff so much that's why. I honestly believe what I am saying. I mean nothing's perfect. But I really like your stuff so much! It has an aesthetic I haven't seen many other places. Keep up the good work man.
