hmmm, please dont take this the wrong way, but i saw your sketches that you posted yesterday, and this is a long way from them. if anyone could improve that much in one night, i'd eat my hat. are you sure you drew this? *please dont hit me* or at least, did you trace it?
it kinda looks like a photo thats been edited slightley in photoshop. i mean, i cant see any pencil strokes at all.
if this was your first post, i'd start to wonder, but i've seen your previous art, so i am not convinced that you drew this. sorry, your art yesterday was great, but this just doesnt seem right.
hope you dont take affence, just tell the truth. :)
peace

yes i drew this, when i shade i use my finger i don't shade with the pencil, and the eraser comes in handy too, thats why you probably don't see any lines that much. but um i drew this picture back a while ago, ok i just don't draw only comic characters i do somewhat of real life, but this is one of my best ones, thats why i put it up!
don't worry i am not mad at you, i could understand for you thinking like that. don't worry!
 :) :D

hmm ok, i'm still not totally convinced. but thats only because its so completley different to the art you posted yesterday. plus its not on your website...
what pencils did you use? did you use ref? it kinda looks like you. how long did it take you to draw, and how big is it in real life?
lol sorry, alot of questions, i'm just curious...

did you load this as a .gif image? sometimes if you load a gif it takes out the details....I am building my website and some of the sketches I loaded on my site as gifs show up like this, kinda posterized looking....

I dig it, it is fuzzy but blending with your fingers gives a muddy, blurred effect. The shadow behind the nostril is a little dark but overall it's pretty good. S'probably too difficult to modify now if you blended with your fingers, after the oils from your skin get into the paper, especially in really dark heavily worked areas done with graphite, any erasing would probably just smudge and ruin it.

ok i see your not convinced its ok, but anyways i was looking through some old drawings of mine that i did and i saw this one, i forgot about this pic thats why its not on my site, i did this drawing in my advertising art design class thats why it looks (i call it) so called perfect but yea it took me about 2 days to finish and i don't really know the size cause i don't pay attention to sizes i just draw, and no this is not a self portait. in my class we had to do the side structure of someones face. so its ok to ask, i am openly willing to answer them even if its to negativity. and the reason why it looks so crappy cause i don't own a scanner, i take my pictures with a digital camera, it sux cause my hand shakes alot when i take pics lol!

This is a cool piece, it's good to know how to draw people real good along with characters. What type of pencil did you use? The texture is great! Did you clean it up at all before you posted it? Since you say you took this pic with a digital camera you should get someone to take a picture of you holding the piece so that one guy can be convinced that you did indeed draw it and stop doubting your talent. Very nice job Sexy!:chug: hope to see more.

Really, if you look at this for a couple seconds, it's not so good as a first glance implies. The drawing barely has a chin, mouth definition, well...really hardly any facial structure. It looks like the features were drawn in profile in the approximate place (and way) that they would be, rather then being built in 3 dimensional space on a 2 dimensional plane. The eye comes the closest to being successful, but the highlight carries straight down from the eyeball to the cheek, making it look flat then.
It's not awful, it just isn't very convincing.

The shading is far too subtle in comparison to your other work. I'm going to flat out say I don't believe you drew this. The edge between the face and the background is very crisp, and the background tones are very subtly gradated, all of which contrasts sharply with the drawings on your site. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but it looks more like a photomanip.

the features are all too floaty for a photo manupulation, methinks...

I think its very nicely rendered. my crits would be mainly with the quality of the picture, maybe you have a higher resolution of it? I also think its a bit dirty, if you would clean it up a bit more i think the gradients and contrasts would be more potent.
good work

My crits are also the reason i'm pretty sure you drew it (I'd be interested in seeing the reference). Anyhow, the upper eyelid seems to be missing and the lips don't seem to have thier own dimension so much as they are a discolored section of skin. A differring skin treatment might do them good.
A second comment. This line I found on your site made my day.

Woah, thats real cool. I like how you didn't use any lines, everything is just shading. Its very life-like.

i havent seen your other drawings so i dont know whats up with that so ide rather just trust you cuz im that cool a guy! lol. anyways, good job keep up the good work. Oh, one thing though, one of the things that bothers me the most is shading by rubbing. seriousely you should try and do with the pencil, once you get that down you can pretty much control the pencil any way you want......hope this doesnt tsound bad but other artist dont appreciate it as much, anywho, keep up the good work!

Mmmm, I wish people would learn things like this don't go un-noticed. Some one, some where will know how you really made it. Anyway, I don't wanna go on about it, so, Venom Girl, I'm gonna ignore this and carry on until I see some more stuff from you. But please make it something original and preferably unfiltered next time.
Have fun, and keeping drawing!

how did you get the pencil to be so dark..... not even the darkest shade of pencil would scan as black as that... maybee that's the reason.
