dude. i'm not that into sculpting, but this is great, especially the back side. ideas for a base? hrm...i'd like to see some organic/mechanical apparatus, know what i mean? eh...but maybe that's been overdone.

regardless, i like the piece. maybe some more definition on its face, but then again you're probably not nearly finished yet.

thats sweet! i think it would look great with a mechanical/organic attachment to the base like ne obchod said......how long did that take? i've never done sculpture, i would love to, but have no clue how to even get started!

thanks for the suggestions guys. i ll play around with that idea, see what i can do .... the face actually has more detail, but the light kinda flushed it away... thanks again!

That is amazing! The back is awesome. Great job!

Just some minor suggestions for the base; maybe have the hands of the people he killed coming up from the bottom? Or maybe some sort of ancient Greek style artwork that tells the story of how he got that sword? Piles of dirty underwear? Whatever you decide, please post a follow up pic. I would like to see how this turned out.

What is this sculpted from and was it easy to work with?

I'd like to see him coming out of the ground or busting through the floor or something and that could serve as the base. But maybe he's not in the right pose for that...I'm not sure.

do you model over an armature of some sort?

The geometry of the base is a nice contrast to the visceral organic figure. Maybe some faded arcane runes or some sort of geometric patterning would be appropriate.
