View Full Version : My very first attempt(Updated)

Well here it is, my very first attempt. I am using some sort of plasteline. I would have prefered to use Super Sculpey what everyone is talking about but its not on sale in Estonia, well atleast i havent found it. It took me about 3 hours to get this far. First i hit a big nail in the wood plate because i didnt had any strong wire. Then i made a circle for the head with a weaker wire and then i used folium to get some shapes done. Then i just started to build something up. Im not using any reference. These pictures are done with my webcam. I will get a digital camera from a friend when i finish it.

well done on taking your first step! its often the hardest one, sculpy is hard for me to get in Ireland! I get mine from tiranti but if you google for it youll be able to find it. Keep going every step is important!

Thx for the comment. Heres a little update. These are also done with webcam. I wil show you better pictures when im done.

fut - nice to see the progress, some nice folds getting into the cloak and the hat, are you using lots of reference! Drapery is like the ultimate thing to sculpt and get right. I reall like the subject , is it a young wizzard it might make it more interesting to make an older face with a beard perhaps, but for a first attempt its very good keep it up! just enjoy and allow yourself to make mistakes.

zant-only reference i use is a picture of a cloak. Everything else is depending on natural intelligence. :) I like the idea about a beard. i think ill try this. I hope to have a update in few days. i have been very busy, school and volleyball practice 4 times a week . Oh and the next update will be done with digital camera so youll get a better look at it.
