A low res copy, it's for my desktop publishing class. The first two pages of the book. Perhaps a little too cliche? The text placement isn't final, I'll be doing that in Quark, fooling around with the kerning and leading as well as spacing between words.

IMNSHO (and in order of importance)...
Flop it so that the text is on the righthand page.
Ditch of the huge black smudge thing running down the gutter.
Ditch the moon.
Ditch the fruity italics.
Make the byline bigger.
"Of" and "the" should both be either upper or lower case.

I like it. I don't know that I would change anything. Why is the text on the left rather then the right? Assuming that the smudge going through the middle falls in the binder of the book.

This guy knows what hes talking about, follow his advice. (I agree with everything hes said and see nothing more to add, I've studied graphic design for 2 years if that helps :))

Thanks again for the comments. Haven't read "cask" in ages. I might read up on it tho to do an illustration a little further down the road. I'm currently working on a Wizard Of Oz series of designs (aren't we all!).
