I really like this! Good sense of scale, good values and colors.
A few things about the planet-eating ship bothered me:
I think it should be darker, for one, as it's mostly in the shadow of the Earth. The lights on it would also be so small as to be almost invisibile. It would also be much more menacing if it was mostly a silhouette, an area blocking out the stars.
The claw that is holding the Earth in place isn't as believable as the rest of the ship design-wise. I think the fingers should be more curved and more clearly articulated.

Technically, the ship wouldn't really need the claw...it's mass alone would probably be enough to suck the planet in with gravity.
Besides that it's a pretty fun picture. :) I like the composition overall too.

wow, quick reply to my suggestions!
I didn't mind the size of the planet eater's mouth, since I assumed the lasers break it up into digestable chunks.

Awsome peice!! . hehe.. the opening to eat the planet is to small Finally!! our obesity comes in handy!! Nice work, and I think putting the ship more in silouhette(don't spellcheck that) worked out really well. One other thing, it seems like the lower parts of each claw should be in shadow aswell. On the bottom of the peice it should say have a nice day hah.

Thanks for kind comments. The aliens are pan galactic cookware producers and the earth's core being mostly iron is a handy source of raw materials.
