A commission I did for a friend over in sweden... have to mail it off to her soon so it gets there by christmas.

not the best of my work.. but i like it, so does gabby.. and it got me back into acrylics/gouache... haven't touched those since the beginning of April..

I like this illustration alot.
has a nice feel but....
i find the brush size a little small giving it a
hen peck feel (that makes it look dirty)
i make a copy then start moveing the brush
size up a bit so that it blends more then
going around the form like a brush drawing.

just my feeling.

great job

Then what u can do now that there is small amount of pigment on the paper is to go over it with no pigment just
water pure water and gently flood small areas so they bleed
into each other.
take a small shape that has many strokes in it and flood
and move around till the pigment pools a littlle more.
it has a dry brush feell.
so with the pigment u have not adding any more paint.

lovely little paintings ^_^

i realize it in sweden but u could do a few sample areas on
a board or paper.

hope this helps i dont want to change ur style just make it
blend more and not let the strokes distract.

i always get nervous making comments so if i forget stuff
im sorry.

You have put alot of work into this.

My quess is u get tired and i dont think you can rush it.
Each inch i would go over and over altering the values
to match the direction of the plains given the light source.

i can see u getting tired i say put it aside come back
dont rush it out the door. Play lots of nice music cause
it alot of work.

might want to use color pencils also
just to knock back areas that would mean hours
of ajustments to colors.
i used a air brush on 1.5 in painter to smooth things out.
may want to do a black and white animators color pencil
to get all ur values and shading correct then use that as a
guide.

isee u pushing around values and thinking maybe it to
busy that no one will take the time to figure it out.
but if you did figure it out. take ur time look at how close
that plane is to the next one and how much value(light)
is touching each plain then making the value steps you
would have near perfection.

i know it tiring work
but just let time work for u that all dont rush it
lay it aside if u have to go watch tv come back later.
