Hi All!

Just started drawing again after a seven year layoff (since 1995 in high school!!!) I've never really had any formal training, so it's kinda rough getting started with little knowledge. I've started reading "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" to learn, but haven't really gotten to any of the real exercises yet. Anyhow, tell me what you all think about this self-portrait.

P.S. I already know the eyes are kinda jacked up right now...

Peace

I think Geoshitties is not allowing you to post through :D. I don't think they allow direct image linking. I don't know of any providers to use though, I think they may have a list in the lounge section. When you get it working, you should come join us down in the Guest SP forum (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=22) and post it.
Take it easy :)

I went ahead and posted this in the guest self portrait forum (I forgot they had a special forum for self portraits on here) and I also placed the image on my school account rather than my geocities account, so that should fix that other problem with the image not showing up. Thanks for your help Blackhawk!

Peace
Joe

I'm going to repost the image in here (using a non-sucky webhost this time) so you all can see it.

You should check out http://fineart.sk/anat.htm for some loomis books. Read through some and find some stuff on facial anatomy and drawing faces, it can be very helpful for just a self portrait Ive found.
But that may not be what you need..just keep practicing..youll get better!
Also, Ive found they look better the bigger you do em...just because you can fit more detail in easier.
Keep it up!
