here is a pic i recently did using refrence.
I would like any advice anyone here has to give
as to what i can do to become better. i see all
this great work here and i just cant wrap my
head around it yet.

you need to add a third value. as it is, you have a mid tone and a highlight. you need a nice dark shadow tone to fill things out a little. also, your anatomy is a little quirky in places, like the far eye is creeping up his face a little, and the shape of the irises is off. also, you have exaggerated the silhouette in places (the nose stands out particularly) but the major thing is to add another value (or two) and play round with the contrast a bit. its a good drawing, just not a great drawing yet ;)
how to become better: i dunno, draw from life? everyone seems to say that :)

draw draw draw............draw from life, draw still lifes.......read anatomy books, in tutorial section you can find two head tutorials by Ron Lemmen (fredflickstone) that may help you improve your head drawing....I think it's just a matter of time
