I had this posted in the work in progress section at various stages of the progress and now I think I am done. I appreciate everybody who commented there, I think it all helped! Of course, there is always more to do and I still see things that I could fix, but I'm kinda tired of this one and want to move on. Still though, I'd love to hear your comments, thoughts, critiques! Everything always helps towards becoming a better artist!

Besides he's holding his gun upside down, what if a nasty alien creature attacks he'll be dead before he has his gun in the exact way
Other than than its not super bad.

This is a nice character design. I like the windy sandy effect you have going on. My only problem is that the characters' position seems to be really stiff. Other than its nice.

Wow, thanks everybody!
bhuddistmonk - glad you like it! you're right, the gun is a little wacky. i was having trouble making it straight and i was too stubborn to use the line tool to do so. :p well, i've learned my lesson. next time, the gun will be straight... i hope. :D
ironclad - if an alien creature shows up, everything goes into bullet time, so he can flip the gun over and shoot the alien before the alien even knows what happend! :D yeah, I think I covered that up well. honestly though, I just wanted him to be kinda wandering the desert, so he was just in a non aggressive relaxed holding the gun state. ;)
matt smith - yeah, you're totally right, he does seem a bit on the stiff side. i wanted his clothing to be kinda like a thick heavy leathery burlapy material, so maybe that's why he looks a bit ridged. he doesn't really have a pose either though... i need to work on my poses. i always just have this "standing there" pose.
killing.people - thanks man! tell me about it, my paintings are always just left in an unfinished state. i feel that even this one could be worked on more and more. i think i just get bored and like to move on. i have no patience I guess.
thanks for the comments guys! i really apreciate it!
