So tell us, what game are you currently addicted to? (for any system)
I dont play games much, but I just bought Splinter Cell and THPS 4 for Xbox, and I cant put down the controller! (the new S one, which I also bought on that shopping trip =P)

Also, are there any games you really want right now?

I dont really know anything about good games coming out, I just usually rent what looks cool at Blockbuster, then buy it if its good =).

Metroid Prime. Now that I have it I wont be playing too many other games until Zelda most likely. I also have Metroid Fusion to tide me over which it great too. I was playing Sly Cooper alot for about a week but got everything including the master thief sprints so thats about done with. It's actually getting really hard to have time for all these games and do my school work, job hunt, read books, and work on my personal art. Games are good for late at night when I am too tired for anything else though.

I played a few hours of The Sims Online Play Test last Sunday, but got bored of it pretty fast...not my type of thing perhaps...I like some aspects of it but I want it to be more role playing and less "virtual date"-like...
Anyway, yesterday I played lots and lots of Tetris online together with a friend and some of his friends. It was really cool :)
Download it for free here: http://www.tetrinet2.com/

Lono, I was really looking forward to 1942... thought it'd be really good considering EAs rep. But I hated it. I'm trying to sell my copy. It's a cool idea but there is so many problems with it. They pumped it out way to quik. I don't know, maybe I should give it another try. I want to like it.

amphex
December 4th, 2002, 03:59 PM

Lono
December 4th, 2002, 05:07 PM
give it another try. download the V1.2 patch. they fixed a lot of stuff. the guns are way more acurate and effective now, even up close.

its a really fun game to play with friends. me and two or three of my friends get on almost every night and we use "GameSpeak" to talk to eachother. we just act like complete buttholes. runnin over people with jeeps n shit,, we just do fun stuff. were not as concerned about kicking ass as much as everybody else.

just goof off. fly planes,, drive tanks, boats, and subs. blow things up,, parachute to safety and then do it again. its fun.

Dreamcast: Tony Hawk 2, House of the Dead 2 and Bleemcast! for Metal Gear Solid make the rounds (PSX is currently in pieces while I attempt to fix it)

PC: Still putting in a fair few hours Warcraft 3'ing online; Dad's gotten me hooked on Bejeweled again (damn parental rivalry @;-) and Dance Dance Revolution (or Dance With Intencity being the emulator) when I can't be arsed to get to the arcade.

Too many games I want, though currently saving up for my own beast PC.

And when Steel Battalion hits Aussie shores, I'm going to be very broke. Is it just me, or does it look like a game that requires a headset of some sought? I WANT FULL IMMERSION DAMMIT!! *looks at controller again and spooges*

Xbox: Splinter Cell is amazing, but my current favorite is easily Deathrow....think hockey, basket ball, american football, ultimate frisby, and a healthy dose of bloodlust, and you won't be far off....definitely worth a look.
As for my PC....I'm right there with whoever that was that said they were re-visiting fallout....I bought Fallout 1 and 2 for fifteen dollars at EB, and it was the best 15 I've ever spent...

amphex

I just beat Vice City...i'm kind of sad about that..

and I've been playing Wolfenstein multiplayer wayyy too much. I might go back to FF7 over my winter break, who knows...definitely gotta draw more though, these inventions are distracting :D

RipperMcGuirl
December 7th, 2002, 10:36 PM
How is wolfenstein single player? I tried the demo and wasn't that impressed....I hear the multi is simply brilliant, though.

cotron
December 8th, 2002, 12:51 AM
to be honest, I haven't played the single player all that much, been too addicted to the multiplayer...but the little I have played of the single was decent...like a little past the first level.. :p the multiplayer is definitely worth the game, similar to counterstrike, but ww2 setting. it's dope.

amphex
December 8th, 2002, 07:28 PM
does anyone here have Warcraft III?
If so, is it still worth buying it, like for Christmas?
I know it was released in the summer, I just dunno if theres still that many people still playing it.

I rented Star Wars bounty Hunter today. I wouldn't reccomend buying it unless you're a die hard SW fan. It's not that great :(

I'm a bit sick of all the current games on the market. They're almost all in full 3d and it has really started to bug me (Ironically, I do low polygon 3d work in my freetime..).
3d nowadays just looks.. bad, that's why the only games on my computer at the moment are the Baldur's Gate- and Icewind Dale-series (except IWD2 which I have yet to buy) of rpgs, they look as lovely as ever. Especially the portraits in IWD ;)

amphex
December 9th, 2002, 04:55 PM

I only played it for like a week 2 years ago, but that was an awesome game =)

daarken
December 9th, 2002, 09:29 PM
amphex: i got warcraft III and i dont like it that much. it is so fast paced, that you are running around trying to do everything you can as fast as you can that you cant really enjoy the game. it is all just a race. if you cant build up your army within 5 minutes then you are screwed.

Cube: METROID PRIME Playing trough in hard mode now. I've got to unlock the other galleries.

i love old-school rpgs animation, like FF6, Chrono Trigger, Suikoden...pretty much anything thats hand-drawn sprites, hi res preferably(looks like Guilty Gear X)...maybe this is off-topic...but ff7 is in my ps2 right now....i want kingdom hearts..-looks around nervously- uh

Everything seems to take twice as long in Metroid's hard mode. I am also trying to unlock the two middle galleries. I keep forgetting to scan certain one time only logbook entries. That's ok though, I am having a blast replaying it.

HELL YEAH! I used to be on the texas connection all the time! Till' I got banned cause some !@#$ couldn't take the heat. Some people don't need to be bequethed with the authority to kick and ban people. There's a houston server I found that's really good too. We'll have to set up some matches sometime.:evilbat:

I've got a hunch my IP changed from some recent work done on my cable.. I'll have to check it out and see if i can get back on that texas server.

I've put to much money into my comp. to get back into consoles, haven't had a console in years. But as for PC gaming, I've cut back to get my art going again. Online gaming is very addictive...

Anyways for 2003 it's looks to be Rune & Unreal for me, enough for some quick games, and back to getting some artwork done... :p

:D Heh heh

I haven't played Tekken4 yet, i wouldn't call the doa franchise the pinnacle of fighters either(like some people i know.)
I was just comparing it to fighting games in general. I didn't care too much for the char. design and concepts. The animations were pulled off very nicely. But the quality of the models wasn't up to the level that's been set by tekken or doa. One feature that i liked is the ability to change fighting styles mid-round. I think each player gets 3 diff styles? There may be more but i only got to play it for a few hours. It does contain some nostalgic value through and through: FINISH HIM! :evilbat:

Don't let me bias you roundy before you get a chance to play it. Go home and check it out.

i'm thinking about getting tekken 4 if i can find it for about 20, i heard it's flawed alot so i don't feel like paying much for it.

I'm also playing eternal darkness and vice city :D
