Really throwing on lots of different brushes today and enjoying the stew. Not very original as far as orcs go, but atleast his skin ain't green! :)

Sigh... I totally messed this one up.

This is what happens when you overwork something.

I totally went over the 90 minute limit on this one.

Anyway, if I get the time, I'll try to do a silent update/fix.

The originality was supposed to be in the neanderthal inspiration.

http://img1.photobucket.com/albums/1003/fisite/orcC.jpg
mine's inspired by some pictures by alan lee for the lotr films(he took a rat-ish approach there).photoshop.the colouring isn't terribly good.:smirk:

This one came out better than I thought it would, which is always nice. I'm not too sure about the perspective, though.

@peepers - Very creepy
@Carnifex - That's a really dynamic pose... I can almost feel its weight.

I've never tried to draw an orc before, so other than that this one's probably not terribly unique in any way.
Someone "bonked 'im on the 'ead" with that bone, I think, and he's not impressed.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/notleftbehind/2004-04-05_dsg403_orc.jpg

Sketched here and there at various intervals throughout the day.

ApricotSoup - Hee! The chin is great! I want to poke it to see what it's made of.
Gumdrop - is that an orc jester?

Jeebus Mr. Hand...... well I'm almost shamed right back into my shell.

That's great!
And, if it's ok to say so, very Dave McKean-like in a way too. I think it's the colour scheme that marks the similarities for me.

heres my orcs??? the dsg says to create "original" orcs. all i did to try and be original (even tho it really wasn't) was to create these orcs to be more youthfull and younger looking. instead of the typical big old heavy mean looking type orc. these guys are youthfull, rebellious, mischevious (spell check) FUN

did them in opencanvas
heres the event file CLICK (http://www.oraclewoods.com/donflores/DSG 403.zip)

Carnifex/JSlayer - What Brushes? Any default Painter ones that take my fancy. Can't remember for this pic' but looks like pen & oil base (tend to use medium bristle alot) followed by lashings of pen rakes, palette knives, a pinch of pastel.

Oregano - Man you gotta finish this up. Love the faces... very individual looking.

Railboy - Really nice hands & face. Sweet colours too.

Charcoal - Love the head gear.

William b. Hand - Was hoping you were still contributing now and then. Simply great & original looking helmet armour.

ooh gum, im looking for answers too... lol
i think i used a water colour brush - go try it.. there is a disadvantage though.. the background usually affects the paint in front, so you have to leave parts where u want objects to be in white heh =)

hope u enjoy painting!

Here's my Orc. He's either looking off frame at the unblinking eye that drives him ever onward, or he's looking at pretty clouds. Your choice.
