Art, that is sweet! Did you take any progress shots during the project? I'd love to see them if you did!

You obviously ROCK! ;)

nice work, art! He has a nice expression, and I think you dealt well with the anatomical puzzle of one eye.

I like the texture you used for the skin... but I think you may have used it too much, IMO. It looks good on places where skin has heavy pores, like on the nose and cheeks, but pores tend to be smaller on areas like temples and scalp. This is not to say that I have seen many Cyclops in real life to back this up ;) But, nonetheless, I think a variety of textures would be more interesting to look at.

nah, i think everything u have posted thus far is PERFECT, hollywood movie quality- just wow. Do you work w/ 3d software as well like Maya/XSI/ or 3ds? If not, GET INTO IT, you would put alot of artist out of work, lol. I want to see more work from you asap, so get that site going please. I forget if you already mentioned this but if you work, who do u work for? Just currious. Man I really dont know what else to say, but keep posting, and feed my inspiration!!!!

I came from the make up FX field.
About the texture pores, I made them one by one(no stamps)I think it is better because you donīt deform the sculpture pressing it.
About How I make them:
one by one with a loop tool.
Then I smooth them all with a coarse black sponge in the direction of the pores.
With a tool made with few very fine piano wires in the top I made a lot of lines in the direction of the pores.
At this moment it appear a lot of little balls of clay in the sculpture and to clean them:
-If you use oil based clay( clean them with a sponge and ethilic alcohol)
-if you use water based clay,(dry the balls with a airdryer till they became withe, now with a soft brush clean them off).

It is true that the texture it is too deep.
Thats why I will made silicone copy of this and it is neceasry to exagerate a little bit the texture in this cases.

I will post the works I made in Maya,
Arturo
