Wow, another french artist has joined the elite ranks. Please tell me you used no photo manipulation in this picture, because I am not really fond of using collages within sci-fi/fantasy themes.
Anywayz, damn good piece of work...

very well done, ornicar
batteram: even though ornicar uses sometimes photos taken by himself, he's first of all a very good illustrator. and it's the thing that makes all the difference with other guyz using photos. here's a sketch of the original composition he did, only in photoshop. we even told him that he could have kept this image as it is, without adding anything. he used his own photo materiels in order to give more details to some areas in the final image. i personaly love that sketch. :D:D:D

Theres no doubt ornicar is a very good illustrator sparth, however, I was just commenting my personal opinion, and that is I really don't like photomanipulation in concepts, illustrations or even textures! However, we all have our own tastes and that is just my own personal opinion. I prefer art that it done by hand only, with no photo manipulation, so you can say that I like to stick to the old traditional style of drawings and paintings.
Btw, did he do this illustration for you sparth as contract work?

Hmmm...under normal circumstances I would have to agree with Batteram, however I think this really came out beautifully. It's done so seamlessly, it's easy to overlook that there's several manips going on. The original is quite good too. I have to say, overall I like it.

bat: hehe i was just explaining how ornicar worked that picture, in very general terms. your comment is very appropriate and fine. traditional illustration has to defend itself sometimes against photo manipulators, you're damn right about that. :D:D:D
ornicar indeed works in the design studio of darkworks, but he did this illustration for an outside client. :D

Hey that's beautiful. I personally am not a big fan of photo-manip, only because it usually just looks like collage + photoshop filters :) . This has style, and a unique style at that. Any way you make it is fine by me :chug:
My only other comment would be I think you darkened the sun up too much in your final work, it's more powerful in your orinigal sketch. No biggie though.
So you and Sparth work together? What a team!
