A self portrait of me when i had long hair. The old me, as i like to call him. I am fairly proud of this drawing, mainly because it looks like me :D . I hope you guiys like it, it still needs a bit of work, but its almost there.

I'd recommend some more contrast. Does the old you have eyebrows?

Yea, it's hard to tell where the chin stops and the neck begins.

thanks for the feedback. on the picture im drawing, you cant really see the eyebrows, and the value of the neck is the same as that of the chin. I realize that is where i as the artist come in, and im working on it. Ill post the finished one soon.

I commend you for putting so much time and effort into this drawing. But when you just try to copy shapes and values from a photo a lot of information is lost. You really need to disect the 3d form of what you're drawing, then reconstruct it in 2d using shapes, lines, values, etc. As the artist, you need to absorb, digest and process the visual information, then create, or recreate it in your picture. This will not only make your work much stronger, but you will learn a whole lot more. Nice work, now dig deeper!!
