Teen Challenge 109: Beached
Topic
This weeks topic is Beached. What does this mean? Well, whales sometimes "beach" themselves by throwing themselves onto shore, where they eventually die. For this challenge it will be a little more open, so it does NOT have to be a whale...any sea creature real or imagined is fine. It also does not have to have thrown itself onto shore, but can have died at sea and then been washed up onto the beach.

Focus
Focus is a new addition to the Teen Challenges to... well, challenge you a bit more!
Although, for the moment, the focus is optional it is still highly recommended to be included!
This weeks focus is materials. Try to get some different painting techniques in on how you depict different materials--what makes water look like water, sand like sand, wet skin/fur vs dry skin/fur etc.
(We'd love feedback on this addition so please share your thoughts in the TC Suggestions and Discussion-thread, thank you!)
Deadline
The deadline is Sunday 27th of February, 23:59 GMT
You've got a week from now, so what are you waiting for?!

So it has to be a sea creature, not say, a ship or something?

Yeah, make it a creature. If you REALLY want to do a ship, you can put some people or some animals it was carrying with it, but preferably put the emphasis on them over the ship.

Does it have to be dead/dying? Can it just be irritated by being stuck?

Yeah it can just be irritated haha, although the difference will be hard to show I imagine.
I need better topics if everyone gets confused over them...

I don't think people are confused, we just want to know how far we can push the theme without actually leaving it.

Not sure if I could make a tc worthy entry coming into this so late, but I'll try anyway. :D
Just wanted to say that I really like that focus feature you've thrown into the mix!

You can post your work in progress pictures of your piece in this thread. A little before the deadline I will post a thread for the final image, where you HAVE to post your final if you want to go to the polls (just posting the final image in this thread isn't enough).
As for what you do it in, most people do digital art actually! Both traditional and digital and very welcome, just avoid photography (it can include bits of photography in it, but has to have some painting in it).

I like to imagine that he's watching Baywatch. I guess being beached has its benefits.
