Hi,
I got somewhat of an embarrassing question, I am using photoshop for quite a while now and I am capable of drawing most things, however detailed clifss have always been a problem.
So my question is, what are the steps for drawing realistic cliffs/rocks in a quick way without the use of costum brushes?
I am fan off trail and error, but so far it has been error all the way through. :404sign:
I hope someone can help ^^, thanks in advance.

Thanks for your tutorial, its appreciated and helpfull in a way, although it anwsers my question in a limited way, since I am looking more towards help for cliff sides rather than rocks in general.
An few examples:

I realize I might be asking a lot, but for me, its not so much the realism which is the problem, its getting the shapes down fast enough without the use of constum brushes.

Dude, its the same thing. You create the shape and pay attention to the angle of the light. The pictures you showed me are no different in the way you would approach them. I painted these exactly the same way as I did the others.

Here is one of your photos painted using the same techniques I talked about. Made with a basic brush.

Very cool.
I have a very bad habit of spending too much time on little details when I should be concentrating on the whole picture. I start to paint something and I get fixated on one area, and then I obsess on that one area. It's a very bad beginner habit.
