sure thing. you can download a demo version from www.pixologic.com, they just released v2.0 with loads of new features - this stuff was made in 1.51.
the program as such is a mix between 2d and 3d functions. basically i think you can compare the 3d part to modelling with clay. using a wacom tablet with it works really well too. you just sorta 'push and pull' on the surface of your mesh. it's easy and fun, and i sound like i'm bloody trying to sell it :)
if you go to www.cgnetworks.com you can get a video by martin kroll demonstrating zbrush 2's capabilities.

well i've tried it,it's pretty good, but hard to learn in the beginning.what irritates me most is that i can't select objects once i've created them.i mean,i've created a sphere f.ex. and then i create a cone, and then i can't further edit the sphere!have i missed something?thanx for your help.
edit:sorry,just found out.tricky program,but good:)
show us more maybe?

heya. yeah it's kinda different from other stuff out there, but that's part of what makes it great.
a good resource for learning stuff / clearing up problems is www.zbrushcentral.com

thanks dude. yeah, i painted directly onto the mesh in zbrush, then exported the object, imported it into maya and did a render with the same light setup i always use for quick renders. i added the glowing eye and a little detail in the beard in photoshop.

yes indeed i will. we just got zbrush2 at work, that has a much improved option for hiding stuff, so now i can work on really hipoly meshes. higher poly, anyway :) my computer's only a lowly laptop with 512 megs of ram so it kinda slows down after a while.
