The "missing" Loomis book

Hey, everyone. I scanned Andrew Loomis’ final book, "Eyes of the Painter," and mless is currently turning it into a .pdf. I haven’t seen the book on any website as of yet so hopefully our effort wasn’t in vain. It’s a great book, and like the others, it should be out there for others to read and learn from.

The book has some overlapping to "Creative Illustration" but there is ‘new’ text in there as well. Lots of good information on the elements of a painting as well as Loomis’ own observation on the subject. (A word of caution though; the classical paintings used in the book were poorly reproduced in the original so my scans were not much better. It matters little though since they have no direct link with the text and Art Renewal.org probably has better copies of them anyway.)

Would somebody be interested in hosting this file for others to download? I checked fineart.sk and SaveLoomis.com but neither had an e-mail link.

they sound like interesting book titles, but I must confess I have no idea who loomis is. And "saveloomis.com" doesn't appear to be a functioning url.

edit: whoops, saveloomis.org is it.

Cool, I'm glad a lot of you are interested in the book! Since it was a scarce title I was afraid I'd never find it. But I'm glad I did.

Two quick questions: Is this a two-part download? Because the filename says Painter 2.

Was text recognition software used for this scan, and what DPI was used? I ask because I need to scan in a bunch of magazine articles and convert them to PDF.
