I tricked her into following me.

I had hoped she would look more like Brittany Spears but the noise filter killed some of the detail.
Painted in painter, no reference.

Ok well hopefully I'll have enough time to colour this later, sorry it's so faint, basic sketch to colour under done with the mouse. Nice works so far. Artistambul, love the mystery in your image even if the stark highlights throw me off a little :D

"Mischievous" makes me think goblin. Nordic mythology makes me think horns and beer, hence this concetption of Loki.

Hey kids, been a while.
Well, this was *supposed* to be Loki, but ended up looking more like a vampire. Oh well, he is the god of deciet and tricks after all...

God of Mischief etc. - what a great gig!
Thor: Where's Loki today, Dad?
Odin: I sent him home - he said he was sick again...

the gods punished him for the death of Balder. He was chained to three large boulders; one under his shoulders, one under his loins and one under his knees. A poisonous snake was placed above his head. The dripping venom that lands on him is caught by Sigyn in a bowl. But every now and then, when the bowl is filled to the brim, she has to leave him to empty it. Then the poison that falls on Loki's face makes him twist in pain, causing earthquakes.

Sweet... looks like this is now known as the Daily Scan Group. Just scan and throw a filter or layer style on it and call it a sketch!

Messing around with the loaded palatte knife brush in Painter 7. It makes this process much more direct but I'm not sure how to treat it yet...

VI i hadnt realized that you sent an email. when i checked, i found it had gone straight to my spam folder. problem has been corrected tho. sent an email for ya. Great work man!
my laptop is now in the shop due to some pixel issues and some short lived battery problems. so now im on girlfriend's comp and gonna try to get my scanner hooked up so i can post my sketch of loki. ill just edit this post so as not to fill up too much room.
EDIT:
WildSpruceMoose, we were talking bout that in school today. i mentioned the topic and that was what one of my friends said. "draw the mask" great work man.
anyhow here is my attempt today. 30 minutes in class with an idle mind and an even worse idle pencil and pad.

Matt and Firematador, love the story ideas tossed in there. Fire, i thought i remembered something bout him being tortured but couldnt remember all the details. thx for unearthing it. i loved my old mythology class.

Move over Loki, I have the new God of Mischief, my 3-year-old son Kade... Anyone that has met him would agree!
An hour sketch from included photo reference.

Hagac - That is scary man... good use of texturing.
village idiot - Great as usual. I like the new-age, warrior feel.
artistanbul - It has a very elfish-sense to it but done well through simple slashes of color.
auden100 - Good use of beer. And the foam looks cool.
HellTaxi - I like the lighting. My only gripe is nose, it looks more like a pigs nose and not that of a skeleton.
artistanbul - Ah you again. I like this sketch. Very colorful and clownish, which would hint at mischief.
Oregano - Good to see you back. I like it whatever it looks like. Yes very vampirish though.
andres_pad - Sorry man. You gotta draw and not alter... practice, practice, practice.
Matt Dixon - Hahah great story and artwork. I love the, er uh, lie. I would rather be smoking and drinking than working any day. By the way, nice tits in the book there...
firematador - Damn! Nice sketch and back story to go with it. I didn't read that much on Loki yet, so it was good to know.
Commander Obvious - Cool of you to use a technique unknown to you. The only issue is that it looks very flat. Keep at it though...
blarg - FIRST POST!!! Damn you. That looks real sweet! I love the texture on the face. Welcome bro!

Heh, fire matador and Commander Obvious, you got to it before me. Heh, and here I was thinking I was going to be all original. Ah well, here's my attempt in chalk and pencil crayon (sorry for the scan quality).

Blah, I can't even compete with some of the amazing artistry in here. I need a tablet *sigh*.

hey, cool stuff, expecially VilId.... so cool looking with lots of character!
Here's mine... I wanted to do a much more dynamic pose that showed more characterization, but I made this real quick so I could (almost) meet the deadline... d'oh!!!

hey all. i didnt get to spend a great deal of time on this, but i was trying to play with the fact that loki was both male and female and make the image sort of androgynous. he is playing with the stick of mistletoe that will eventually kill balder.
