Take a look at Drew Struzan's (http://www.drewstruzan.com) 'Hellboy' poster on his website. Apparently the movie distributor didn't like it and there are only a handful of them out there. What a shame, because it's beautiful.:)

OMG!! i had no idea that he did the covers to two of the BEST rock albums: 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath' and 'Welcome to my Nightmare'
awesome.
also i think that the producers/distributors liked the hellboy poster it's just that they wanted to go with something different? dunno.... bad choice imo

Dude I can tell you exactly what was going through those marketing morons' minds when they nixed this infinitely cooler poster:
"Well that poster is too warm and organic and completely contradicts our sleek stainless steel X-Men rip-off marketing campaign. If people see this poster they will become confused and not go see the movie because of its lack of similarities with X-Men. After all, every comic book property is exactly the same...."
"...Oh, and we don't like the fact that 'HERE TO PROTECT' isn't plastered in giant bold letters accross the image. If the public sees the the title 'Hellboy' and misses the slogan, they will pee thier pants because they will think that hellboy is evil!"
Wah. You marketing people can soak your heads. They did the same thing with "LXG" last summer (although I'm hoping Hellboy will be better than that piece of crap). What the hell do stainless steel and speedy James-Bond-spy-fonts have to do with a steampunk adventure movie featuring Jules Verne characters?! Hellboy is generally about old, creepy decaying occult stuff, not super-sonic jet fighters and nifty gadgets with concealed flame-throwers! For once, why not try to market a movie for what it IS?!
Blah.....

unfortunately because then they would be taking, in their minds, a gabmle, and they would rather stick to whats selling right now so they know they will make some money, just along the comic turned movie ride to milk whatever portion they can get out of it =/
down with the man :D
