If you want an idea on how creative it could be look at Joachim's Tdome entry.

Kinda dodgy, but it was seriosly a 30 second(ish) sketch to aid in the procrastination process keeping me from home work

I am too hungry to muster up anything more creative so I just went for the old B&W look. I am also feeling lazy so I flipped the image instead of drawing 2 different sides! :D

andres_pad - Ahh... A true Zen master. You like your Ninja Tune by any chance?

DAVEY - Very original idea. And very fitting to use the Earth. ;)

Where's the ying yang thing? I was trying to mix two opposing emotions in the same expression. Didn't really come in as planned, but time's up!

Good stuff by everybody today, as always.

Village Idiot:

Love the colour and feel of the picture. There's only one thing that bothers me; his back doesn't seem to be wide enough, and the shadow beneath his left shoulderblade is possibly a bit sharp. This might be done from a ref. and I should just shut up, but those are my initial thoughts. :D
Still a kick ass piece, though!

I'll try to squeeze in time for a quick pic later today myself.

dcept you're almost certainly right. i used no ref at all so there's issues of proportion all over the shop. the woman's arm is meant to be draped over his shoulder but i haven't shown any definition. mind you i was trying to make it as ying and yangy shaped as possible.
when i look at it now all i can see is moby dick staring back at me, thanks to the tattoo at the top of the woman's arse

HOLY WOWSH*T! VI, Gumdrop, and MD; amazing work! now all i see is the moby dick thing tho. kinda funny. Matt, maybe a slightly lighter shade on the side that isnt crying would convey another emotion. i dunno, somewhere around a 6-8% dodge in PS. ill try to post something later on. wont compare with these tho. great stuff!

Very nice turnout today. Thanks for your comments.

village idiot - Such a great idea. I love the use of the tatoo's. Oh... and extra prop's for your choice of tunage!

Matt Dixon - Besides what you said, I really love the strokes on the face. Wish I had half the control.

zkreso - Prop's for being the first to dish up the fish. I like the way the bottom one is arching up. Nicely done.

Andreas - Beautifully done. Great background colours.

karma police - Great tangle of flesh. Would have liked to see more colour and texture. The face looking at the gun is nicely done.

xbiten - Nice idea. The different noses really add character to the opposing moods.

JABAJAWOOLU - Oops... red X

Ezarto - Welcome. The scales are a great idea.

bernstein - Sorry. Looks like a biggie, but another red X

Railboy - Lovely bumpy texture. Are they seeds sprouting or sperm?

dCepT - Having a go at MD's idea? Not sure if you mean't it, but the orange face looks more mad than happy?

wayfarer - Very cool. Love the colours. Might look better with a more subtle symbol IMHO.

simmi - Good to see you on the inks. I am trying but I am finding them real hard going.

MIKECORRIERO - Awesome. Glad to see you are still knocking 'em up. Your work is alot more detailed than when I was last here. You always chose such nice pastal colours.

BRANDISH - I really like this. Very original and a nice style.

Newbie - Love the hem of the gown, and the wings look nice. The arms look a little too long for the body though.

Well, not what I intended when I started the sketch, but it's okay. This shows the struggle between men and women.

About 1 and a half hours with my trusty pencil and colored really quick in Photoshop. I am very guilty of not using a reference so please be kind of any anatomy/proportion issues.

gah! why am i posting this?? because I did it, goddammit, thats why!! I dont care if it sucks my ass. omg look at that horrible anatomy ... and that disgusting background!!

Oh well, if nothing else I hope you all get a good laugh out of this :)

well, this is my first real attempt at painter today ... I had absolutely no idea what I was doing and I came up with this crap...

where's the yin yang concept in this? Iunno, the big dark dude with a small head (who's presumably dumb as a rock) vs the pale short dude with the huge head (who's presumably really smart). Oh and the pink and red crap in the background too.

sorry for makin u see this! teehee... good stuff everyone!
