Village Idiot - Don't go blaming potent dairy products; you're clearly a very disturbed man. The tie's a nice touch. Great stuff!

cheers matt! quality stuff from yourself as always. :chug:
how do you get that nice painterly look? is it a default brush or have you made your own?

Good God... Killer stuff guys! Love the splitting apart look Village Idiot, and superb colours Matt Dixon.
As for mine, well... let's just say I was just messing around with different brushes and leave it at that! :o

Ta. Very original design, Gumdrop - cool!
They're my own custom brushes, VA - I must have made hundreds over the years. I tend to alternate between different brushes while I paint in an attempt to keep the strokes looking interesting, but I don't know if it actually makes much difference...

village idiot - nice design, i like how the necktie looks comparable to a dragonfly wing...very subtle.
matt dixon - the mouth really reminds me of the fly & the fly 2. love the colours.
gumdrop - cool looking design...VERY cool looking design. the only thing that throws me off is the tail.
this is a great topic, i'll have something later for sure.

hi there, this is my first post here, since i discovered this great site. The Daily Sketch Group is a very good and creative idea, so here is my first contribution to it. I did it on PS, using my wacom intuos A6 (I also plan to try painter soon)

Sixblade : well, it is scary !
Aristanbul : very interesting choice of brushes, I should really begin using painter !:)

Heres the finished version.. swear the contrast is f*cked on my scanner.. everythings faded when its scanned in so have to adjust contrast *sigh* back wings messed in scanning because of it
http://img41.photobucket.com/albums/v126/sixBlade/dragonman2.jpg
I'm pissed the tail fubared on the last couple sections before I started fading it (bah!) but overall happy I've created something truly.. er.. *ahem*

garghl,i feel dumb posting this now.
but i don't have the time for anything better than that.also my hand is hurting.
http://img1.photobucket.com/albums/1003/fisite/bugwoman.jpg
i just wanted to change one point on the human to make it look icky(still i added the wings coz i had the feeling it wouldn't look too much like a bug otherwise).
it's a photomanipulation.i hope that's ok with the rules.otherwise i'll take it down.yeah.it's cheap.
village idiot-my fav for today.extremely icky.

Unfinished, but I've got to take a break. He'll have bug legs crawling out of his mouth eventually.
I'm happy with it so far, but it's missing something... can't tell what, though. Suggestions?
http://www.atomicagedog.com/art/dailysketch/halfmanhalfbug.jpg
Can't even compete with Village Idiot and Matt Dixon... those are right out of my nightmares, guys.
EDIT: Okay, it's done. Thanks for the suggestions.

railboy-as soon as you have the legs coming out,you will be able to compete with village idiot's and matt's pieces.almost more than that.the idea along with that current picture makes it already creepy as hell.
about something missing....what's with his right eye?why is there such a big black hole there?and i think you need to enlargen his right hand too so it matches the size of his left one...it seems a bit too small.
i always wonder how you get that technique...could you maybe show some wip?

great, no.... OUTSTANDING work today guys. all i can say is WOW! creepy.
Sixblade... if the scan comes out light then use the burn tool over the light parts. then use the dodge tool if it burns anything more than what you wanted. always helps me on scans.

I think redships said it best... "today's stuff is the best I've seen in a week." Villiage Idiot set the stage for some AMAZING artwork today.
Here's mine. About 1 hour distorted self-portrait with pencils and 5 minutes of shadows in Photoshop. If I were only that beautiful...
