In a bit of an artistic rut, I decided to do some quick sketches to break me out of it. Here's two from that session.

great environments.. I feel your rut man.. I'm in one too.. It's caused by too much beer and pills and women and coke and lack of sleep... what am I saying? great sketches though. .

I hear what you're saying abou the ruts. I swear, all the things you've listed do me in. For ages I would comehome, chill out, have a beer, then not be able to draw. I've cut the beer out, which has helped. The other stuff, though..
I read a book on Michelangelo, and his teacher supposedly said to him "What goes into the woman cannot go onto the canvas." So he banned them all from sex.
Wish someone had banned me from sex as a teenager. Then I'd have had a reason I wasn't getting any..

again.... thanks for the comments.
lets face, it artistic ruts can come from a million different places...we all have our demons. As long as we keep trying to break through them and improve we will never become stagnant.

brkofdon: They each took aprox. an hour or two. I tend to noodle things sometimes so that quick for me:)
