I just finished a term at gnomon and i took 4 digital classes (surface modeling, poly modeling, texture mapping, creating 2d textures for 3d art) so here is a dump of a bunch of images from each class. all work done in maya and photoshop

hey! nice collection of stuff, I think each piece has some good stuff goin for it. I really like the ears on that troll creature at thr top, the rest of him is ok, i think u could make somemore cuts, and flesh him out better (ie: the brow needs work, and the lines above the lips look to uniform). You are on the right track though. I like the other model too, some real nice detail all over, like the tubes and such. The texturein and lighting on the last piecec are nice too. Keep updating and posting new stuff please!:chug:

some great looking stuff!! I like the cyborg soldier guy, and the fact that you did it with nurbs impresses me. Ive given up on nurbs for the time being. The texture mapping is cool too. did you model the environment, or did they give it to you and just have you texture it?
And I have another question for you, Now what is Gnomon?
is it a actual school with a campus? or is it just a bunch of training cd's? cause it looks interesting whatever it is.

Good work.

you've got some good stuff going on here.

to push your characters models further i would start breaking up the symetry.

ie.. clip one of your trolls ears like it's been nicked, make nostril sizes slightly different... raise or lower an eybrow.. etc..

you get the idea.

keep up the good work.

thanks for the comments!!

Joshua - NURBS are definately a pain, but the class was all about modeling with nurbs so I had to do it that way. I'm definately a big fan of Polygons now. As for Gnomon, it is a school right in hollywood. It is a pretty small community, there are 4 labs, a drawing and sculpture studio and a small auditorium. I'm in the certificate program there so i'm taking 6 or 7 classes per term, digital classes as well as analog classes like production design and some history classes. its really cool. i modeled and textured everything in the images.

atomicfate: thanks for the comments, i definately need to get in and break up the symmetry like you said. the project is actually due in 2 days so i can go in and start breaking it up. Thanks again!

digitalgannon; i want to add some more detail to the troll guy, but i don't want to model in cuts and things like that, i just layed out my UVs so hopefully i can use some displacement maps to get that detail, we'll see if i have time! thanks again
