LEAD LIGHTING ARTIST
Responsibilities:
•Working directly with Art, Cinematic, and Programming teams, the Lead Lighting Artist is responsible for guiding the lighting team to create visually captivating lighting effects to our games.
•Work with Art and Programming team to solve technical challenges within given constraints and visual requirements
•Assist in determining the look of a given project to exceed current industry standards
•Collaborate with Art and Programming team to solve technical challenges within given constraints and visual requirements
Qualifications
•5+ years of in-game and cinematic lighting experience for games using proprietary lighting tools
•Prior experience as Lead Lighter is an asset
•Next Gen Console development experience required
•Strong understanding of colour theory
•Ability to balance quality with efficiency and work within performance budgets
•Strong background in traditional art and/or photography would be an asset
•Solid understanding of lighting/rendering technologies
•Proficient in technical problem solving.
•Demonstrated working knowledge of current technical lighting techniques and technologies and how they apply to video games.
• Self motivated and actively seeks feedback and direction • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain lighting standards for characters, environments, and cinematics
•Sound knowledge and use of advanced lighting techniques in the video game or VFX industries
• Experience in Lighting with any major 3D CG Package (eg, 3DSMax; Maya; Lightwave; Beast; Enlighten; Lightscape) •Passion for creating games
