I havnt posted in a while, probably because I cant draw so well, but I am improving. Well actually I cant draw at all, I am better at doing cartoony stuff, so here are 2 of my Unique Animals

Post your Unique Animals if you like...I'd like to see your ideas too, just for help heh

Heres Pandox, a cross between a panda and fox, my first attempt

Do all your creatures have a black/white color scheme?

Stepping outta the box and creating new creatures is cool and all, but when doing that shouldn't the color scheme also sort of jump outta the box too?

What is the first one eating? Dead mouse? Bloody sock?

What is the thing stickin outta the top of the Biradon's head? A horn? Reproductive organ?

Interesting though, wonder what else would look interesting cross-bred.

Bring em on.

Ditto on the color scheme thing.

There's an author you might find interesting, his name is Dougal Dixon (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-url/index=books&field-author=Dixon%2C%20Dougal/102-6874266-8732154). Also check out Barlowe's Guide to Extraterrestrials (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0894803247/qid=1079988901/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/102-6874266-8732154?v=glance&s=books).

the important thing to remember is that make-believe animals be possible. Just throwing together some weird random stuff does not a creature make. Do the research, work on your life drawing skills, and it will all come together.

This new one seems to lack the refinement and detail the earlier one possessed.

Keep this thread alive though. It's interesting.

Why are we amalgamating animals?

If it's for fun, then I suppose these are fine where they stand. They're doodles and provide you with an interesting subject matter while you learn PS skills.

If it's for humor, then keep in mind that just putting together some odd pieces isn't funny on its own. In context, how these animals act will create the humor.

If it's sci-fi, then seriously take your time and do the research. Figure out why a dog and a mongoose and a marmoset and a sea cucumber are all fused together. Then render them as completely as possible so that we believe and accept as true to the reality of the drawing.

I think it's just for fun...

Oppolus never actually gave a reason why he was doing these things, he just did them. Which is alright.

Anyway, he said he wanted to see some work by others so I did one. It's a elephant, a dragon, a bird, a lion, and an earwig (the tail).

I completely made up the musculature on this thing. Made it sort of outta this world really. It all works out though. The part I really don't like is the head...It was all good up until the head.

Enjoy!
