I was thinking maybe we can have a thread w/everyone's personal artist inspiration - even if they are obvious talents. Possibly include website URLs if they have a website.

I don't really know of a lot of people (which is why I started the thread), but I do like:

Feng Zhu http://www.artbyfeng.com/

Joe Madureira http://www.joemadfan.com/

J Scott Campbell http://www.dangergirl.com

I like learning from other's work, by seeing how they view the world around 'em , so please contribute :)

Stephan Martinier (http://www.martiniere.com) I like to look at for space stuff.

I just found out about Harry Clarke. I really like his style.

Sargent has a really nice way of handling paint.

The old masters were great with linework.

Vuillard I just like to look at.

Actually you know what, I don't have very many "artists" who inspire me, I don't see another person's work and see it in that light, I don't know maybe I am just crazy.

BUT my inspiration, bottom line, is from music, James Horner, Klaus Badelt, Howard Shore, Hans Zimmer, Danny Elfman, Loreena Mckennit, alot of the Budah Bar collection, Cafe Del Mar, Crystal Method, I could go on and on.

Film inspires me concept wise to no end, so I guess that is the visual side because all of my designs are intended to be for the screen.

Great question though mtw.

My eyes....what they see inspire my hands to move and my heart to open.... But I have to say a lot of anime got me into art: Ninja Scroll, Princess Mononoke, Bubblegum Crisis, Demon City Shinjuku, Vampire Hunter D, Blood, Jin Roh...etc... But Tom (IA), DanC, Tex, Prom, Min inspire me a lot at the moment...

Sparth inspires me a ton, i'd love to see more of him post more stuff on here.

Also, the guildwars guys blow my F'ing mind. In particular the guy who calls himself "prostate sunrise"; I'd love to know a little bit about his process, his stuff insanely inspires me.

When i was younger, a big inspiration bomb for me was:
Movies (horror, fantasy, movies about friendship monsters and children, lol!).
Sega Genesis\Nes Games (those fantasy\robotic games was really cool!)
Some old fantasy\fantastic books. Also (a lot of) - books about dinosaurs and animals.
-
And now a lot of inspiration i can take from Music. Some games and books.
But movies... There is not so much good movies as it was time ago... :(

At the moment, Justin Sweet: http://www.justinsweet.com/GALLERY/index.html

Also, guys like Yoshitaka Amano and Ashley Wood, who invent their own art language. Though i'm not sure how exactly you define inspiration. Do you mean inspire to create yourself or give inspiration for what/how to create?
