This is frickin' awesome. I like the light in the first one. The colors in the 3rd one are very cool... The combination of those in the second one, PLUS the great atmosphere and the great concept makes this my favorite of the three. :eek:

Swank. It's hard to crit quick studies (as they are more about mood than design) but I'll say that the goggles in # 1 are kinda high up on the head, not exactly over the soldier's eyes. Cool shite, tho, and laced with nice little bits o' technique. :beer:

the first one i like the best. looks like a mix of fallout and primal scream cover art
the alien slave is really good too. dont like third pic as much, nice colours tho.

yeah these rock. I agree about the head of the fighter pilot being a little off. I don't think the goggles are too high, if they were any lower he wouldn't have much of a neck. If you gave him a little more helmet (remember the helmet would add half an inch to an inch to the size of his head) it would be fixed.

only remark is like chukw says the goggles, since the mouthpiece also covers the nose it is clear that the eyes are to high. on this drawing the space between the goggles and the mouthpiece is to big and to flat to hide a nose underneath

Man youve really bumped the skills your past several posts. And still doing the looseness. Only crit is that the army guys glasses seem to sit high. I think that was probably a conscious desision but you cant really tell why they would sit so high. That to me makes it off some how.

Great stuff Black! Love the continued looseness, its really starting to work. The added story detail (the playing card in the soldiers helmet band) makes the image seem more real, more like a snapshot than a posed piece.

I always enjoy seeing art from you.
I think all three are spot on. In my opinion the head and goggles are fine.
The exercise is a quick concept, so fussing over goggles too high or two low
is irrelevant. Well done.

Really nice colors, and pieces overall. I just think that maybe you took the style a bit too far, cause in some parts I can't see what's coming from where. I dunno maybe thats what you were going for, or they were just quick sketches, but in any case that doesnt stop me from liking everything else about them :) GJ!

On the second one, even though you have some dynamic lighting, the character lacks the depth that the first one has.

All are terrific! But I like the 3rd one the best. Even though the colors don't jump out quite as much as the other two. The monster is cool. Love the spade in the pilots helment!
