Hi all, im struggling to find good images on the 16th century pirate, you know real pirates. all i seem to be getting is party costumes and pirates of the carribean come up lol. not good. i would be extremely grateful if some one could find any images on the costume designs from that era. stuff like cloaks, scarfs, hats, gun holsters, guns, swords and even shoes ths would be awesome. Thanks :)

Ok mate here we go! Pirates and scruffy costumes.

Olver reed did the 3 musketeers films there is a lot of frills and ruff etc in that but he also did a pirate type film. You could Also look at traditional illustrators and see if that turns anything up.

I will have a dig for you and send you some stuff if its any good okay.
Meanwhile look at these are they any use?

just thought of another thing to search on for you

nc wyeth treasure island illustrations

paste that into the googlr image search and it brings up loads of stuff some of it good but a lot of garbage too, have a dig it might point you in the direction you want.
