Do you need any drawing skills to be able to do 3d design and modeling...?

because i cant draw for shit...
please help...

technically, no you dont... but it depends on what you are doing...

if someone is drawing your concept sketches for you, and you are just modelling them on a computer... you can follow their anatomy skills and produce a fairly decent likeness without too much trouble...

but on the other hand if you are talking abotu designing a character and rendering that in 3d, drawing skill will help you immensely because of the knowledge of anatomy that comes with all that practice life drawing you will be doing ;)

Being able to visualize and create in 2d is, to me, an obvious requirement when that third dimension is added. But do you need to be able to create finished 2d artwork? Not really. But shading and line weight suggest form and depth, and the practice of putting them to paper will help your visualization skills immensely.

I know professional sculpters who can't draw for shiznat.

If you think about it that's basically what your doing except it's through a computer.

Most of them say it helps though :). Especially with their conceptualizing skills.
