BioWare Austin is hard at work on the massively multiplayer online game, Star Wars: The Old Republic, and we need talented Cinematic Designers! Note: These are full-time, contract positions. Local candidates only please.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Performs scripting in-game cut scenes using animations and tools provided by the animation and programming departments.
• Partners with lead cinematic artist/animator for quality assurance on all cut scenes.
• Integrates all cut scenes in a game engine.
• Ensures that cinematic dialogue implementation is on schedule and of high quality.
• Responsible for ensuring the cinematic conversation tool has all needed functionality.
• Partners with animation to ensure all needed animations are built for the in-game conversations.
• Determines needed custom animations for special scenes in the game.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum education (preferred but not mandatory): Four year post-secondary degree
• Strong understanding of film language and the ability to build high-quality cut-scenes
• Game design experience (preferred but not mandatory)
• Experience with working on game toolsets (NWN, Half-Life, Unreal, Quake, etc)
• Excellent communication skills; the ability to liaison between artists and programmers

PORTFOLIO REQUIREMENTS:
• Examples of cinematics built with a game engine tool
• Examples of live action or animated work
• Examples of scripted tools related to game design and cinematics
• Demonstrate the ability to develop storyboards (optional)
