I must say I don't usually like this kind of style, but this pic looks great!

maybe i just got no sense for art, but i canīt see anything good here. i mean, it kina looks like when my little cousin (5) tries to paint. most it is because of the dropped ink in the upper section of the picture, but ...
...just canīt find anything i like at it, sorry :(

its pretty abstract without a background. while some of it shows style, the ink splotch and the 'gun' seem to be mistakes that detract.

Hey, come on guys! Give this guy a break. He may not be to anyones liking but he has his own style.
Honestly, it doesn't look like a 5 year old scribble; it's rather like absract art to me. I feel there's something more to this work piece then meets the eye; its got emotion!
I hope this is what you're trying to convey spiritform because this what I think this piece is about. If not, I fear you may be heading at the wrong direction. Good work anyway!

it's scary...which is what i like about it. it's effective since i get a sense of fear from it. it would be interesting to see other characters done like this....then animated in a short. could be very frightening.

i think there's some cool stuff going on here.. i think if you applied this vitality and randomness to a more realistic style, you'll have something really going on... its something ive been trying to do lately

-hehe.. thank you so much for the comments guys... i always love hearing all the mixed reviews on this style of art. :)
im sure it will look alot more complete if i win the contest and ben templesmith colors it. it will be judged april 1st ... my fingers are crossed.
Tiava: im glad you see it's childish properties... i guess im working my way back to a child-like state of mind when it comes to art. where we are free to roam in our imagination and not held up so much by expectation or the ego.
wraithdt: you pretty much hit it on the head! there is alot more too it then meets the eye. it is more about the emotional value and state of regression. so the art in itself is pretty full of expression. the strokes seem to act more like notes in a twisted musical composition. this is a new style of art i've been doing lately. i feel more free in the process and disconnected from the minds analytical way of thinking. so yeah, its not as technically advanced, anatomically correct and beautifully rendered like most of the stuff you see in this forum.
thanks again everyone... im really glad some of you feel it, instead of just seeing it with your eyes.. :)

I think that some messy fingerprints or maybe even a palm smear would be cool in place of the big paint blob... The blob really wants my eye to look at it instead of everything else.

This paticular style isn't liked by everyone, but I feel its a good effort. I do like some of the other pieces you have posted alot better. They had color! As far as critiquing goes, its really impossible with this type of art. Ad color, then repost it. I think people will get it more then.:D

I think that the really big worry that I have with a piece like this is that it is abstract. Abstract is good art and it is like as mentioned a breath of fresh air.
The only worry with it is that if you can't do really thought out full rendered work along with it, it shows up in your abstract work. I know it sounds dumb but you can tell a difference in peoples work who do really great illustration and then do something abstract from someone who does abstract cause they can't draw.
Just keep up your drawing skills and your thought process in your abstract and you can make something really marketable.
This is cool art man.
