hello
I was wondering how much money concept artists made, both in film and games. I've heard around 100,000/year. Is it the same at smaller companies too? Just wanted to know, cuz going to an expensive school and then coming out and only making 25,000 a year would suck!

i don't think it's really a matter of how much one makes
it's really about doing what you really want to do
you won't go far if it's the money you're after
let the money follow you
just go with what your heart tells you
if concept art is what you really want to do, then why not go for it?
if you have the skills in addition to the passion, then you WILL go far and be successful

I gotta agree.. you shouldnt do any job for money.. you should do it for the passion...

I would say at small companies its in the range of 60-100 but.. I dont think you will get there right out of college.. expect to start at the bottom and work your ass all the way to the top.. that takes some time.. but if you "HAVE THE PASSION" then it will seem like a breeze.. Plus getting in the industry is a task alone.. you have to put in the time, and the effort and grunt work, to prove yourself... so if I were you I'd really think about what you want to do.. and do that and not think about money... :) good luck
