...to run Painter.

Any idea why I can't even start my program (5.5)? This is the message I receive in the pop up.
Thanks

Hi,

As we've been told, the older versions of Painter were not designed to "understand" more than 512 MB of memory.

Following is a solution that's been given frequently on the corel.graphic_apps.painter newsgroup and the same, or something with similar wording, I believe, is also available in the Corel Knowledge Base at Corel Knowledge Base Search using terms "not enought memory" and product Painter (http://support.corel.com/scripts/rightnow.cfg/php.exe/enduser/std_alp.php?p_sid=ZthuuA6h&p_lva=&p_li=&p_page=1&p_prod_lvl1=19&p_prod_lvl2=%7Eany%7E&p_search_text=not+enough+memory&p_new_search=1&p_search_type=3&p_sort_by=dflt)

Try the following it worked for me.

Its a virtual memory thing.

Here's what I did:

-Right clicked on my computer to get the properties.

-Went into advanced then performance options...

-Clicked on Change under Virtual Memory...

-Then set the Initial size to 500 MB and clicked set.

Then you hit ok and restart the computer.

Hope this helps! :)

Thanks Jin - that did the trick!

Unfortunately, "Big Brother" at work denies it's minions access to newsgroups, so having you paste the info was a great help!
