I envisioned this as a piece for a ccg. Would it fly or no?
I realize there are some problems with the background, but overall I like it. I added the sphere in photoshop.

I like it - although, I think the sphere is too "perfect" - doesn't match the style of your painting. Nice, though!
Also, after a second look, his left hand is either too big, or his forearm is too skinny - or maybe both?

Thanks Blackwell. Yeah, the sphere is a little too perfect, isn't it. I've been discussing that very issue on another forum. No concrete solutions yet. And as far as the left arm/hand goes, it might be that the index finger is a little off. I thought the wrist looked thin too, especially compared with the right hand.

dude. i gotta tell ya: that sphere is kicking ass. i mean, i look at it like this: a sphere is by definition perfect, so anything in comparison will only make it look that much *more* perfect. the piece overall is amazing, i'm enjoying it. oh well, that's my opinion. please, keep them coming.

Good work! overall mood and color are cold and enough to give some tight feeling..
all's good but one part looks weird.. approaching creatures in right corner(creatures right??) looks emerged to wall..like painting on the wall. is it intended??
keep rollin' and rock the world!!

this is wonderful, you are very talented.
i think the magical sphere should not be as perfect as well, it doesnt fit the style of the painting.
i would also like to see more of the beast, its a shame the focus is that shere and its casting light, i wanna see the beasty, you know what i mean? though i am sure this proves difficult.
very cool representation of magic.

ne obchod: Thanks. The more I look at the sphere, the more I like it. Even if it doesn't fit the painterly style. That's magic.
direwolf: You're right. That is a creature coming in from the right. I see what you're saying about the contrast, or lack of, with the wall. I had some trouble with that, but if you asked me about it, I would say that the creature(s) are born of darkness so they would come from the shadows on the wall. That's why they look like they are on the wall. Sound good?:chug:
killing.people: Thanks a lot for the compliment to my talent. Means much to me. I'm not too good with developing creature concepts, yet. Hence the hard-to-see beast. Maybe, in time, I'll bring my demons out of the shadows.:evilbat:
