I was scribbling and painting and ended up with this. However, I completely forgot where I was going with it and need a little help to either remind me or point me in a new direction. This is only the undersketch and a start of the base colours, but my heads gone blank.....Any ideas.

Can't decide on colours... I was going for a rural rustic feel..

56 Viewings and not one reply, so I'm assuming you either all don't like it or your as lost as I am.... never mind I'm sure my creative juices will kick in soon.

56 views and no replies is nothing. it's an excellent start, hope to see it finished.

I think we're a little lost too ;)
First and foremost, a good clean scan will always help you out. It's a presentation factor. Folks will think you're more serious if you've cleaned up your scan.
What's the background? You're confident on the figure, but then your line wavers in the background and foreground.
What are you looking for in replies? Critiques on anatomy? the piece itself? the idea? how to color it? The more information you supply, the better chance of a response.
While your line is confident, the head seems rather big for the body. While the head seems strong on its own, the body seems to fall flat. One thing you can stick in the back of your brain that helps a lot with composition is; if I was to outline this character, and fill it in completely with black, does it stand out? Can you tell what's going on? Is the idea clear?
Things like this will help you when you sit there and sketch ideas out. Also, don't be afraid to redraw the sketch several times. Who says the first time has to be perfect? :)
