I find it hard to believe that we haven't had a thread like this yet but Search didn't turn it up. Feel free to lock if its a repeat.

Anyways I'm currently playing Super Stardust HD. At the hands of no other game have I uttered more profanity. I'm somewhere around 11000 on the leaderboards right now, but the levels are so freaking intense I can't really imagine making it all the way into the tens of trillions of points as some have done.

Some flash game in the arcade section part of this website, sucks my soul every time I see it: http://wecookart.com/forum/arcade.php?mode=play&g=27 When you're logged out you might not see it though but it's like a strategy real time game, but more strategy than real time.

Mega Man Next Remix- It's a faster, harder, more challenging version of Mega Man with a whopping twenty robot masters. Note: This game is still a work in progress and probably won't be completed until next year.

This is why my roomate helped looked up any bugged quests and such on the Oblivion wiki...its even more annoying when playing the 360 version since it has no fan-made bug patches. So i feel your pain.

Otherwise, ive been playing some Fable 2. Eventually I'll get to play some Minecraft if my Christmas money comes in. Both are very good IMO.

I'm just about through playing oblivion now (doing damn near everything), I'm running it with about 30 mods. Took a while to get them all working together (trial and error with the load order/overlaps) but its worth it for the new gear, better graphics, less bugs etc.

What bug are you having, maybe i can help?

Thanks a lot for wanting to help, but I think I figured it out and could hide the bugs. :)

Yeah the mods really add to the gameplay and visual experience of Oblivion, I am almost up at 100 mods now and it is running so well with it, except I think I need some more RAM. :P

Actually, the reason I started playing Oblivion again was because I saw this video of a modded Oblivion which looks just so beautful. WARNING: may cause you to reinstall Oblivion and dl lots of mods.

Unless you dont have the internet, theres absolutely no way you can dislike Steam.... is there???
Its easily the best Gaming/social network thing outthere, and its easily the best Digital Download service out there, by a country mile too.
Speaking of which - Christmas sales are coming!! woooooo.

That said, because I play games too much Ive been playing:
Completed recently:
Arkham Aslyum
Baldurs Gate 2: Throne of Bhaal

Now playing
Mass Effect 2

My gameplaying habits are usually several years behind the curve, and as such, my time-waster of choice these days is Serious Sam: The First Encounter. If you haven't played it, it's completely absurd, but also pretty cool, and quite fun. Your character is a tough-talking, hyper-macho parody of other FPS characters, sent back in time to ancient Egypt to defeat an alien race that is about to destroy humanity in the future. The game makes no effort to hide the fact that the "story" is just a flimsy excuse to shoot cannonballs at giant four-armed lizard magicians in ancient Egypt.
The game also sends absolutely absurd amounts of enemies your way. Most levels from midgame onward have well over six hundred enemies.

Final Fantasy 8, every now and then i play it but i never beaten it.

I usually just choose an oldie for the nostalgia kick when i get to it. Or else just a game that you can beat over the weekend or a few days and move on.

I tried Mass effect last week, and not that is bad, but most Rpgs are not my thing so already unistalled it.

Changed my mind about Enslaved. It looked good to start with then went rapidly downhill. I've given up on it now, pretty much impossible to progress if you've chosen the wrong options early on (pure chance) and so irritating I wouldn't want to anyway. Another triumph of presentation over gameplay. Every developer should be forced to play Bioshock 2 ten times through before writing a single line of code.

I'd actually really like to see a sandbox free-running / parkour MMO.... Just casual freerunning in a city with a bunch of other people, jumping rooftop to rooftop... like the running in assassins creed, but in a big urban environment (imagine, scaling to the top of a skyscraper with a bunch of other people then leaping off), etc...

I dunno... could be fun. :)

Space Invaders Extreme 2-How the hell did this and the first one get overlooked? I fucking enjoy what Taito has done with this and it's a shame that too few people remember them.

Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume-Also underrated and too bad Square Enix didn't dub all the story sequences. But that's minor considering that it has fun battles.

------------------------------------
Portal 2- great but short

Brink --- This was absolutely terrible I'm honestly pretty disgusted in this game. Please don't buy this game

1701 A.D.- For the DS Kind of a remake of an old game 1602 a pretty great remake and love having it on the DS.!!! and it was 6$!!

Final Fantasy Tactics A2 - picked up 3ds just to play this game love love love it nothing but improvements on the first soo worth it.

Fallout New Vegas - Huge fan of the Fallout games, this one is great and destroying my studying time- liked the layout of Fallout 3 better but this is great - I could go on with the improvements and flaws but it is well rounded if you liked the first this is well worth it.
--- --------------------------------------
Rented

Lego Pirates of the Caribbean- Lots of fun could have been better but if you like any of the other Lego games then you'll like this, worth a rent.

Crisis 2 - Played on the Xbox was absolutely beautiful played very well, I couldn't really get into it Rented it for 2 days, Ill probably try to get this when its a bit cheaper very graphically intense in a good way, great shooting mechanics, kind of complex sometimes though only flaw most buttons preform too many actions and was kind of hard to keep straight.

Red dead Undead nightmare- Most people will hate me for this but I really didn't like this game, I think I only played the downloadable part but I'm unsure It didn't really feel like a full game but was unable to figure out if it was supposed to be an add on. The game world felt pretty empty and like there was really nothing to it but go to point A shoot zombie go to point B repeat etc etc etc... for the remainder.

Dragon Age origins: Mehh above average it eventually got pretty good much, like the Old republic games. I played a rogue and did not like the combat system felt really unresponsive until later in the game, and at least for the rogues it felt like making it through the game was a lot harder and you really weren't doing any damage, but again eventually the combat system felt better and it was worth continuing through.

Tales of Vesperia: This one was again Mehhh Symphoniea felt much more solid. I don't know the button layout felt wrong, couldn't really get into it which sucks because again I loved Symphoniea.

Singularity: Loved Singularity was really fun, And i'm really surprised this game didn't do better in sales and reviews. Lots of interesting and well designed weapons and environments, story was a bit transparent but o well still wonderful I'm going to try to pick this one up when I can, make sure to check out the concept art its up in the FF section and its beautiful.

I can't play games, most of them bore me after 30 minutes and it's hard for me to be sucked in; i like rather simple logic games. But, some time ago started Amnesia and I like it so much, despite linear plot. It's true monsters are not really scary but sounds are. Music is brilliant.

Downloaded the free 'trial' version of Age of Conan (unlimited play time but you can't leave the first zone at level 20). Expected to uninstall it after the content stopped but I was hooked and had to sub!
Beautiful MMO and lots more fun than I thought it would be (I no nothing of the Conan universe whatsoever). Shame the voice acting stops when you play the real version though because that was a really good feature.

I'd really reccommend anyone to download the trial - its a lot of fun, especially if you were like I was and just wanted to play something for a short period of time while you wait for more cash to play other games :P

Say what you will about the Call of Duty series, but mowing down zombies with a superpowered M16 while being chased by a zombified George Romero in an arctic wasteland has never been so much fun!

Alice Madness Returns.

I`m liking it, the mechanics are functional i could say, maybe not exceptional, the camera is a bit wonky and combat could be way more refined ( playing on the pc) but the scenarios, costumes and models all look very pretty, i like the design in it and wanting to see whats next is enough to keep me playing.

And there are other colors outside just brown and grey, yey for that.

Mass Effect 1
20 hours in so far, great game in my opinion. I'm curious how ME2 will be.

ME2 is still good. Lots of great dialogue, interesting characters and environments that made me love the first game. It's definitely more "closed in" I guess you could say. No more inventory system, no more landing on other worlds (at least not all the time), no more weapon mods, everything was "streamlined" as the developers would say. Whether or not it's a change for the better kind of depends on how you view the normal amount of character micromanagement that comes with most RPGs

As for me, I just got done playing F.E.A.R. 3 and I enjoyed it. Not a bad shooter, but it's the environment and atmosphere that's always made the F.E.A.R. series stand out from other shooters for me. Still, no really re-designing the wheel though. You should note however that the "Perseus Mandate" and "Extraction Point" expansion packs AREN'T considered in canon with the storyline of F.E.A.R. 1-3

Other than that, been re-playing Mass Effect. Wanted to try the game over again with a brand new character and experience the mass effect universe again before I transfer this character over to Mass Effect 2

If temptation swallows your willpower then draw the Crysis 1 nanosuit. Much, MUCH better and more interesting design.

im currently playing Half Life 2 and Bioshock, both are excellent games.

bioshock is a little bit to short, but the underwater city "rapture" and the story are very cool.

also i like the story and the athmosphere in half life 2.

Playing Brink and Witcher 2: Assassins Of Kings right now.

Brink tries going for the stylized, class based team objective based shooter like Team Fortress 2, but not nearly as polished. A fun enough game but the different classes don't feel distinctive enough to make themselves stand out from each other, any way you look at it you're essentially shooting people with the same weapons and completing objectives by pressing the "use" key. It's fun enough, just isn't as good as it could have been.

Was reluctant to play Witcher 2 because I didn't like the first game at all, but this one is a large improvement. The graphics are a huge improvement, as is the story and writing and combat itself has been streamlined. Downside is it's not easy to navigate, so many menus and screens and the game doesn't really do a good job of teaching you how to use them (had to go online to figure out how to use mutagens) and it seems to operate under the assumption that the player is familiar with not only the characters and events from the first game, but the events from the Witcher stories and TV show, it's just easy to get lost. They don't make things over easy at all, they don't really hand anything to the player which sometimes works to the games benefit, other times just makes you feel stupid. Overall not a bad game. Still nowhere near as good an RPG as my beloved Dragon Age Origins though

The original Zelda for the first time...hopefully it lives up to the hype...however if its anything like FF7, I'm not optimistic.

Also playing FFXII and about to start God of War, also for the first time. I am behind on my gameplaying, I know I know...

I'm still thinking of it. Most likely will. But oddly enough, I prefer the second one. The first one isn't bad at all. I'm just one who prefer's thicker looking armor. Not Warhammer 40K thick, who the hell would want that? But, Like the Security Shoulders from Halo: Reach thick. I like my armor to actually look like it protects me while still looking like I can move or turn my head in it.

Now that it's free I've finally gotten TF2. When I finally relented and got Steam last year I avoided TF2 since I figured I wouldn't be able to compete against seasoned players - but I've actually enjoyed myself quite a lot. I've mostly been playing as pyros and medics - more the former, but I'm enjoying my initial forays into medical practice. :)

I still haven't gotten around to Brink, although I own a copy. I don't believe the developers wanted the classes to feel as distinct as the classes in TF2 - I think with Brink they wanted it to be flavor more than anything else. Some people have speculated this was to limit problems where no one wants to play a certain class - since at the foundation they play the same way. However I've heard this is an issue with Brink and it's actually more problematic since you need specific classes to complete specific objectives - if no one wants to play an engineer in TF2 your defense may be crummy but you still have the possibility of winning.

I think I'd be more interested in Brink if the class abilities were more developed. My interest in the game sort of cratered when they removed the ability for operatives to play dead, which completely ruined my plans for a heavy operative - the character I was most looking forward too :(

I really enjoyed the battle system in FFXII.

I'm also behind on my gameplaying, due to me now being a very casual gamer. I played a little bit more Dragon Age, but now I'm probably going to stop playing again for a long time to have more time for art. It'll probably take me years to finish the game.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 never gets old, which is nice since my computer can't handle anything better.

I love MS Flight Simulator, I got X.

The two game I played recently were City Life and Sim City 4, and I'm sticking with Sim City series.

City Life is boring as hell.
