... or whatever they're called. i'd like to know how to make these. I'm talking about what looks like dried watercolor blotches such as the ones on Puddnheads Ram (http://www.conceptart.org/amsterdam/RAM-DEmon-FINAL.jpg) (on the horns, hoof and leg) and the cape of the green troll thingy (http://www.conceptart.org/amsterdam/troll-22aaXXaXXzaXaaaaa3-te.jpg). and also this desktop image that i have (http://www.mythforums.com/files/SlugManblotch.jpg). Are there brushes that do this? can i make my own (brush or no brush)?
btw, looking to do this in PS 7

Hi,
You could probably make some watercolor or ink splatters on paper, scan them into Photoshop and save the image as a Pattern, then paint the Pattern onto your image wherever you want it.
or...
Make the scanned image into a Photoshop brush.
I believe that's how Rowan Dodd made his Dodds' Ink Splatters brush library for Painter 6 and earlier versions, and his Nozzle library:
Dodds' Ink Splatter (http://www.tbns.net/rdgraffix/temp.html)

there is a stupid technique I use myself from tiem to time. Now that I am a PS 6 dinosaur and dont have any nifty texture brushes and all..
press j and press 4: airbrush at 40 opacity. choose a hard edged one. oh and make a new layer. double click on layer to get to the layer styles. choose inner glow. choose normal where it says screen. choose a dark saturated red as the color. You may optionally choose black and overlay. anyway. do it. you can change the size of the "dried" effect at the edges from the size bar. go on and paint the blobs in red till satisfied. Stupid somehow but it works.
