Alright, in hopes to tide things over at least a little, I'm taking Targete's suggestion... here's a daily sketchbook... though we'll see how daily it really is ;p This should bring y'all up to date on much of what I've been doing the last coupld of months... You've seen some of these before, but just for the sake of unity and consistancey, I'm reposting a few.

I suppose I should've started one of these a long time ago. Oh well, here gooooooes!!

I know this isn't really a sketch, but whatever. It's a value study for the Emerald Hall in which Dorothy is given the Emerald Sword. It's a mix of 3DS Max and Photoshop... it still needs loads of work....

Great! You've actually been a person I've been trying to keep track of here on the site, definitely happy to see you making a sketchbook thread. You better keep it active, or I'll be throwing stuff at you. The only comment I have is that the way you draw breasts on your more side oriented views, the near breast usually seems a bit too on the side of the chest, or lacking in a sense of depth... not that bad or anything, just catches my eye.

Hey man, very nice. I love the fluidity you are getting with your figures. good weight distribution. The same with the hair.
That pose of her inspecting her wound is great too, very subtle. People rarely think to draw anything but the most obvious moments, it seems like youve put alot of thought and love into your concepts.

That tree city concept is really fantastic too...id love to explore that environment. Id love to see more.

If you need some encouragement keeping your sketchbook current, Ill be willing to hassle you if you'll hassle me.
i just started mine up again and im trying to keep it current. I would be nice to have the moral support. ;)
cheers...

Sinix: Thanks. I'm deffinately going to try my hardest to keep this thing up to date. Sometimes it's a little difficult between school and work stuff, but I'm sure I can find time through the week to scan stuff. In ragards to the breast thing, I guess that's what I get for not going to lifedrawing workshops, ay? Heh heh.. I'll certainly keep a closer eye on that... thanks for pointing it out. Peace

ChaosEidolon: Heh, sure I'll hassle you ;p Thanks a lot. The architectural stuff has always been a struggle for me. I'm trying to put more thought and energy into designing all that junk. Hopefully I'm somewhat on the right track. Late!

Endregen: Uuummm... I'm a studessional. Nah, I'm a student, though I'm doing some freelance stuff on the side too, but I'd still call myself a student. It'll be a long time before I give up that title. And yes, women with swords, nude or clothed kick ass. Hell, girls in general that can kick ass... kick ass. Thanks ;p

Peace all!

fewww-shion,
dem cities is awesome, and those perspective shots of the girl are rad aswel.
Anatomy is very precise - except for the breast thing that sinix mentioned. If the girl is shown in profile dem boobies will point in profile too. True, they do point in opposite directions, but it’s not so pertinent until they’re bigger.
other than that this stuff is excellent, I like how the girl is casually checking her wound as tho she just noticed it.

excellent work.

Just a couple today. I'm working on a single character poster for Dorothy, and one for the Witch. So, here's Dorothy so far. I had my friend model for me. I want Dorothy to be Persian, so Sharon fit perfectly ;p

This is the one based on Sharon... ah, she kills me, what can I say...

Okay, I'll try and post some more soon... back to woooooork.

wow great stuff mang! One thing i noticed though in all of your side profiel sketches: the titty closest to us is facing us too much, it should be much more of a side profile.

keep up the toyt work, i love you perspective you are coming up with for some of your girls.

thanks Nardfrog. The issue with the breast was brought to my attention earlier. I'm addressing it in the pictures to come ;p Damn, I guess I have to look at more breast reference... tooooo bad. Heh heh. I guess if other people are pointing it out, I REALLY better take care of it. Thanks again mate ;p Peace

Nice stuff. I'm at work though and I have to scroll a little fast through the nekked chicks. Gonna check this thread out later when I get home.

Also, I think I saw on another thread that you go to Art Center? I should be starting there spring next year, hopefully my stuff will look this good after a while...

Okay, sorry I've been slacking. I've actually been working on painting and stuff more, so I'm also posting my current WIP:

Meg and her killer eyes ;p Oil on canvas board... gonna lighten up and desaturate the background, as well as lighten up the shadows in the hair and yeah... more work to do.
http://www.savagesunarts.com/Sketches/Meg.jpg

Aaaaaaand more Oz stuff... finally figuring out this whole poster dealio.
http://www.savagesunarts.com/Sketches/Oz_22.jpg

http://www.savagesunarts.com/Sketches/Oz_23.jpg

And heres the final render of the Emerald Hall. I didn't have time to add the Emerald sword... and yeah, there are things I would still change if I had time, but I don't... toooooo much to do! Damn it all
http://www.savagesunarts.com/Sketches/Oz_24.jpg

And last but not least. Just to change speeds a little bit, here's something completely different...
http://www.savagesunarts.com/Sketches/bg_col.jpg

yeah, that's all for now... I have more work, but no time to scan it all right now, and then other work I'm not allowed to show, oh well. One of these days.

The girls are very nice, specially like the ones in red, the wound inspecting her wound and the first inked one.

The geometry of the emerald hall is pretty boring but the lighting is nice.

Maaaaaan, I checked the drawings again at home. Very cool stuff, I was just talking to a friend of mine last week about doing a reimagined wizard of oz series, guess I'm gonna have to come up with something else...

Okay, here's a few more on my Oz project... probably won't do work on it for a while now... but we'll see.

Tin Man

Scarecrow
http://www.savagesunarts.com/Sketches/Oz_26.jpg

And the poster. There are issues with it in terms of value and tangencies and that crappy font, but I ran out of time. They didn't even finish printing it up until a half hour before my presentation, so yeah. I'll work on it more when I get the energy up... but for now, here ya' go.
http://www.savagesunarts.com/Sketches/Oz_27.jpg

And one last pic!! Here's the finished version of that one above...

Daaaaaaaaaamn...I love these sketches. Great angles, sexy girls, just awesome. Can't believe I didn't look in this thread before.

About that poaster...the one thing that bugs me is the similarity of the poses of Dorothy and the Tin Man. Not sure if that's what you meant by your comment, but it really bugs me to the point of distraction. Beyond that, this is some phenominal work!

You're going to show up at the workshop with suitcases full of your drawings for me to steal, right?
